This is very poggers

Well, this pleases me. Despite some of the changes I don’t really like, all in all, I agree that this is the right direction to go in. Will likely try to stick around for the TGR to arrive, since this isn’t something I want to miss.

did you read the second paragraph

mind quoting it?

This is going to be a true nightmare for AA players.

Arcane Odyssey also solidifies that this IS an AA sequel too, so there could be some returning AA players we never saw make a sudden comeback after the rename.

That’s fair, makes sense that a new game will bring new features. Guess I didnt think of that one, haha. I just feel that the open world feel current WoM has is a really nice part of the game. On the other hand, I dont disapprove of islands, I feel like they’ll be great. Hopefully they arent as spaced out as much as they were in AA, though. The boat rides got a little monotonous.

We’ll see flying sharks again.

The terror here is real.

Question: if the game is going to take place only 5 years after AA, then why would there be so many elemental magics for anyone to use. according to the lore all these new elemental magics came about after a millenia of magic development, but back in AA time stuff like Ice and Magma were mutations, and Arcane Odyssey takes place right after AA.

Honestly, can’t wait to see what this will look like! Make sure to not overwork yourself to the point of exhaustion, Vetex. We all support ya :frhigh:

1.) Gonna be honest, very happy that there will be a new storyline, old one wasn’t great IMO. But please make it less linear than AA’s if possible.

2.) I don’t REALLY have any problems with making the map more like AA. But if you’re going to do so, then PLEASE make the more important islands bigger and more memorable than the AA ones.

3.) kinda wish we still had flight spells NGL, they sounded really cool

4.) unpopular opinion, I like the name

5.) I’d like it if the naval battles were a bit more smooth and interesting than in AA. If not, then no biggie

6.) aw hell yeah lost spells. Maybe they should have different tiers or rarity to make them more diverse and interesting though.

7.) Sharks… sharp inhale don’t really have anything against sharks but it would be cool if we had beasts on lad that we could fight and maybe get cooking ingredients from (if cooking and food is still going to happen of course)

8.) It’s nice that you’re going to try to release a small update every two weeks but make sure you aren’t burning out your team or yourself k?

9.) I’d really like it if we still had the bronze grasslands or at least something like it in the new game. It had so many nooks and crannies to explore which is what I really like about these types of games.

Super excited for this, keep up the good work!

The original magic weapons concept would be having it based on both stats, so magic users wouldn’t really have as good weapons as the strength users do.

Yes, but it would still be doing damage based on your magic as well as being able to cast your spells.

AA Sharks: We ate this weird mineral that lets us fly.

Hopefully Odyssey won’t have this issue.

THIS.

IS.

EPIC.

EVERY SINGLE CHANGE HERE IS 100% WHAT THIS GAME NEEDED.

I am sad to see flight spells, moving npc’s, the continent, and the minotaur and exiled go I really am.

But if this is what needs to be done to make the game better than so be it.

We got your back vetex, the entire community does. Welcome Arcane Odyssey!

I like most of these ideas though I think the game should have much, much larger islands than arcane adventures, also the structure of the sea shouldn’t be as stupidly linear as it was in AA, where it was essentially the story takes you through the seven seas in numerical order and once you’ve entered one there’s no reason to go back unless you want to change to a previous fighting style or such.

Having the map/story be put on a less linear path would make the story feel more believable and allow for players of all levels to interact or at least see each other regularly.

The small islands were also a big issue I had with AA, as it made the game feel much more like it’s about the sea and made every island feel like, well, an island. You couldn’t get lost in a field or explore a snowy tundra because there was no island big enough for you not to see the sea from anywhere above ground.
Bigger islands will also allow for boss battles that don’t encompass an entire island and for chaos monsters and such to exist.

I do think town npcs that can die and stuff as well as a few remnants of the old quest system can be kept, just with the number per settlement greatly reduced and changing the “active” npcs to only be regular, unimportant citizens. This might not be possible but I think my first point is still valid/good.

Overall I like this idea, I just hope this game doesn’t end up being too similar to AA in the end.

yes like magius occured 10000 years after Arcane Odyssey

whoa whoa, after looking at the comments about sharks…

i swear if i see one flying shark zoom past my screen as im wandering on an island

That is something everyone can agree on

Of course you can still cast spells and all that, but strength users will have weapons that fully scale on strength, and they’re extensions that can make playstyle more unique, and fighting styles are getting customizable attacks just like magic has. Magic users deserve these kinds of extensions too.

Original concept magic weapons could be in the game as something both sides can use to an equal extent, though.
