Re-enchant bad.
As much as i understand the importance of the economy, why are you so fixated on it?
Yes re enchanting would make rare items cost less & on the same token more rare items will be traded around since a "bad enchantment " would be reversible so it’d still be a worthwhile trade.
And finally the big part of it! Getting the enchantment that you want on your gear would take hours not dozens of hours, which would likely make alot more players bother with min maxing since it’d actually be feasible without spending an entire week doing so.
[ though if rng hates you it could still take ages & you’d be better off trading for what you want ]
To sum it up overall more players will be less frustrated with the current end game grind and enjoy the game just a tad bit more.
Which should be the main focus in my humble opinion.
Also something that i just thought of.
Re enchanting would also be a great crown sink which would give people something to spend their crowns on.
Since you could easily spend 5k if not more crowns of each piece of rare gear that you have if your going for certain enchantments.
Players at the current end game wouldn’t constantly be at the crown cap.
Alright that’s it I’m back because I want to ask something:
Why the FUCK is everyone worrying about the ECONOMY? The economy is SHIT right now because people were trading like over a hundred seasonal items for a single damn sunken sword with a strong enchant (well, this is only one example I found, but I doubt it wasn’t the only one that dumb). In any other game with a NORMAL economy, a rare item with a good add-on on it would be pretty expensive, but not that outrageously expensive.
If anything, re-enchantment would make the economy WAY more stable and desirable for people who want to simply trade for the items they want, with REASONABLY high prices instead of whatever absurd offers/requests we had before trading closed down. An economy where such absurd trades happen as the one I described above is probably the shittiest economy I’ve ever seen.
You fuckers saying re-enchantment would “ruin” the economy fucking deserved the trading shutdown.
I agree, the barebones “economy” of this game is:
- Crowns have literally no value, and anything non-optimal has no value
- Normal meta stuff (amulets, iron armor, wizard armor) with good enchants is basically all equal value
- Sunken armor is only worth other sunken armor
- Sunken sword is only worth other sunken swords
Which is basically not an economy. There is nothing in-place currently to “ruin” with something like this.

Sorry man it’s just that when I saw that people were saying that “the economy will be ruined” by something like this it pissed me off a LOT. Really, any time I see people put the economy of a game before the game’s actual well-being it pisses me off.
The absence of a mechanic like disenchanting and re-enchanting is EXACTLY what caused the economy to be so bad in the first place.
aye it certainly is absurd that there are some who think that WOM even has anything resembling a healthy economy atm.
Also since i get the feeling that this post could go on for an eternity i’ma link my post on the matter again since it now contains a bunch of stuff that should help simmer down the argument a bit for those who read it.

Thing is there is barely an economy to begin with as there is nothing to trade except for small stuff such as amulets or extremely rare stuff such as sunken.
