Warding Changes Feedback Thread

I’m gonna be honest the new enchants are half the reason stats are so bloated

It’s an increase in efficiency outside of the Dark Sea for an increased grind. A notable Atlantean build I saw was one with sunken + a few other pieces.

Very potent build, well rounded overall. However agility/atk speed are primarily being carried in that build by jewels, which as we move on the other stats will increase more significantly while those two stats will stagnate a bit. The primary usage of the Atlantean modifier here is for power, and while it scales, is pretty much useless if you want to go into the Dark Sea since you’ll have to swap out pieces of your build to not die to insanity. Reducing defense is an ok idea, but what you could always do is nest atlantean between exotic and rare enchants.

So power is 9, secondary stats is 27 (looking at the new changes), and defense becomes 81 at level 120.
I believe that build diversity can be expressed by the risk/grind someone is willing to take. The build that is willing to accept the drawback from insanity will be stronger than the one that doesn’t.

Same build, pretty sure 4 Atlantean essences is probably death without Warding 5. The change in stats given by Atlantean will further emphasize the difference between this and just running 5 virtuous + 4 Atlantean.
Just because someone wants and grinds for a comfortable but powerful build, does not mean that insanity from Atlantean equipment doesn’t exist. One drawback from this build anyways is that you’ve also condemned 3 pieces of Sunken gear to being permanently with Atlantean.

As an ending note, just because you want to stick to a certain scale (1:3:9) doesn’t mean you can’t deviate from it a bit as you try to keep numbers all nice and clean. (this is literally 9/27/81 anyways so it still fits)
If you don’t want this change, then you can just do it if warding is present on that armor piece. Sure this hurts Theurgist a bit, but it’s already pretty efficient when you can run Theurgist + Atlantean and negate it with an enchant (leaves 4 others open still).
So the build I posted stays at it’s 87 power mark, and the auto generated one loses 12 power. Aka you pretty much lose an Atlantean modifier’s worth of efficiency by running warding if you go for a 4 Atlantean build.

Gonna stop adding to this, but this is what I think.

the new enchants alone provide an extreme amount of stats, which heavily contributes to stat bloat.

If we had just the new armours and gems, the absurd stat bloat would be far lower

my build has…

145 power
662 defense
1 drawback
1 insanity
70 atk size
72 atk spd

This one is in for a surprise by the end of Nimbus
As a side note, stat bloat is gonna be a thing anyways. Which makes me wonder, should Vetex start adding in stat milestones to unlock new things?
Say 400 size means you can overcharge your attacks to make them significantly bigger.
Every 200 intensity amplifies your attacks Status tier (Burning I → Burning II)
Not sure what Atk Speed will do, but Agility has the Teleports.

gee I sure love getting over 1000 of a stat at the end of nimbus sea!

Unironically it could be possible if we get a better amulet tier. Although I doubt that, at least for level 200, level 250 on the otherhand… I’ll edit once I calc the numbers
Gonna assume Aereus is 2.45 per 10 levels for size and apply the 1.34x buff it’s getting from balancecord.
So I’m going to round it down from 3.283 to a clean 3.275
Gonna use 2.225 for Sunken Iron Helm/Leggings for size scaling since I can’t really get an accurate number

Level 250 stats
Amulet + Explosive = 237 (rounded down from 237.5)
Aereus (getting a 34% size buff) + Explosive = 156 (rounded down from 156.875)
Sunken Helm/Leggings + Explosive = 130 x 2 = 260
Sunken Armor + Explosive = 150
Total: 803 + 72 (Jewels) = 875
So close yet so far away… (Trello does bring up the possibility of us getting the next amulet at level 250 though)
Anyways let’s apply the potential amulet change that was voted for on the balancecord.
So +5% and +10% are…
918 (918.75) and 962 (962.5) respectively

Note the Aereus Calc when I rounded down is significant enough to actually warrant 1 whole extra point of atk size.

I don’t count defence as part of the stat total (as in not divided over something), since you get far more of it than other stats

Done in case you wanna check it out
