What are they cooking?

might as well play competitive modern yugioh (less complicated)

Thank you Pristine for always coming in clutch to explain and deal with the actually ass part of the balancers.

Also don’t bother arguing with WarmWater, he’s just salty like Danny is, but he never cools down (degen behavior frfr)

preferably, the trend would be a slope

currently it’s like an incline almost

i genuinely wanna have a conversation with these people

i wanna know how they think

they probably saw the absurd aoe/speed possible rn, and think the solution is nerfing the stat as a whole

A slope implies heavily exponential scaling. It’s something that was experimented with, but the problem isn’t the middle points, it’s both ends. If you want stats to be useful at all currently, it’d result in beyond comical endgame stat efficiency. If you want it to be balanced for lategame, stats would be useless right now.

Not going to clutter this thread with an unrelated discussion, but we can talk elsewhere, if you’d like.

but it’s somewhat effective if stats linearly scale, no? pristine is saying 200 agility at 125 is 400 agility at 200, so on and so forth

the issues here is that with the current trend we’ll have about 800 agility at level 200, which is double the already absurd agility boosts from before

not to be the dumbass that intrudes conversations but didn’t what he say mean that :

200 agl at 125 = 400 agl at 200 ???
the numbers get bigger but the effect remains the same no ?

yes, if we had 400 agility at level 200 it would be the same

the issue is that stats as a whole are outscaling level by a huge amount

I can’t wait to have 3200 agility at level 1000

i earnestly don’t know what you’re expecting, tbh. neither has any information of stats for the nimbus sea been released, so this is just pessimistic speculation in my eyes. I’d be worried about gems, if anything

Yes, when you only look at the number of the stat it can seem like a huge boost.

The highest possible Agility at Level 200 grants you less than 30% more effect than what the current highest possible Agility grants.

well then, can we have the god damn formulas for stats then so we can actually calculate this stuff

Wish it was public information. Maybe one day it will be, but that’s Vetex’s call alone.

vet has explained in a post before that it does work like this, stats are scaled to the max level

Balance team members when they create a new formula that rewards high investment in one stat and people start heavily investing in one stat:

a slope and an incline are literally the same thing

slope as in it’s sloping upwards away from you, an incline as in an inclined wall towards you

an incline is the same thing as a slope. you’re thinking of an exponential curve.
