What are they cooking?

This I’m not really a fan of.
Individual stat points becoming weaker and less effective as you level feels kinda gross.

If stats are 100% effective at level 125 and 50% effective at 250 then there is literally no difference between 200 of a secondary stat now and 400 of a secondary stat then.

In the case of agility specifically I kinda understand it because if things kept scaling they way they are then we would be high jumping to the top of stepstones sooner than later, but the way you’re wording it makes it sound like this affects other stats too.

Or magic the gathering (game is turing complete)

It seems like

If only there were a way to make really strong items that have downsides…

Like a gemstone that gives you a lot of defense but you lose that defense when you attack

Or an item that makes your armor have extra stats but gives you insanity

That would be so cool! They should add them!

i had a nap in that time

That’s not the case. Was specifically tailored to always be an upwards trend, just with some downscaling to keep things from getting too out of hand.

I have a question somewhat related to increasing stats. Jewels/Gems from what I heard are planned to have some form of scaling to keep them relevant going into Nimbus and beyond… Is there any insight at all on what this would be? My personal guess is once we reach a certain level it’ll either gain scaling or just “tier up” as to prevent us from making a low level file with jewels that can give said low level file exceptionally high stats for their level.

I feel like going above perfect is gonna be way too silly as a fix. probably some new item u gain that buffs the stats of an individual gem that makes it gain a level requirement to be used

Could be, alternatively we could “Overgrade” a jewel at say, level 120 and get a Jewel that gets scaling from level 120 to level 250. Level 120 becomes the new requirement and automatically will scale based on the wearers level.

Gems already have level scaling, just like Enchantments do. You typically just don’t see it, since nobody is using gems below max, in most cases.

Gems always give the equivalent of half of a T1 Enchantment in their stat categories. Gems give 3 Power currently (half of Strong), for example.

wait deadass ? ive been jewelcrafting for like months and i didn’t know that :sleeper:

Well then, I can’t wait to see Legendary gems give half of t2 enchants :skull:

At the end of the day, this game was always bound to be incredibly unserious by the time we approach level cap. We’re gunna be so overpowered it’s hardly conceivable. Frankly, I’m here for it.

it’s HALF OF AN ENCHANTMENT?

nooo I DONT WANNA GO BACK TO THE STEPSTOOOONES HEEEELP
i mean i guess i could just use thornflowers after getting a brig or something and then gather some coppershrooms when my jewelcrafting is ready but damn it

On the topic of goofiness or unseriousness, how much size/knockback do I need to punch someone across Elysium (ideally into the walls/stands).
Using Rushdown

I don’t know, but I do know max Intensity + full Knockback Musgravites can fling someone to Sailor’s Lodge and back. Best of luck on doing something similar with your Rushdown.

I’d consider running intensity if the intensity rework was to come next update, although, at the same time probably not since I’d rather keep the focus buffs over DoT since I plan on using shadow to give my basic combat more stats (specifically size).

hey pristine would vetex ever agree to make every magic work underwater or is he dead set on leaving it the way it is even if every balance team member disagrees with him

Not really sure. I do hope they all work underwater in due time.

I lose my precious power and a bit from the other stats, but let’s see how this goes. I’m fine running a bit less defense although I’m worried I’ll get stomped pretty quickly, going to look around for alternatives for intensity if any.
