Title says it all. And no, I don’t mean Shadow Magic, I mean Darkness Magic that is listed in the Trello in the magic types card. Frankly, I can’t really see a difference between darkness and shadow magic. The description of darkness magic is literally just “a dark purple/red or purple/black energy.” which is vague compared to other magics. In fact, it sounds more like a different color variation of shadow magic than an entirely separate magic.
Basically, is there really a need for darkness magic to be a thing?
The reason it’s a lost magic isn’t because it’s strong (even though it probably will be), it’s because it existed a long time ago from a user and is lost to common knowledge.
Also the thing of “it’s just shadow magic” can be said about any of the other lost magics with the similar base magics. You could replace darkness magic with any of the fire lost magics and replace shadow magic with fire magic in said sentence and it would still be the same case and point.
Maybe I’m just miffed at the name cause it’s just so plain and that its the only upgrade for shadow magic for lost magics. Its like calling the upgrade to light magic “brightness magic”, while in reality light’s upgrade(s) are aether, sun, and potentially healing?
If I were to name a few potential upgrades of shadow magic, it would probably void magic, decay magic, corruption magic (could be poison’s though as well), and nether magic (opposite to aether magic).
well what other names would you use? its a fucking upgrade to a SHADOW, or an illusion of light thats dark and also seems to be of darkness as of the magic. You don’t need to think that much to make a name for an upgraded shadow, so just go simple.
Sun is an upgraded fire, it was done that way in AA as well. It was going to be a pure fire mutation along with phoenix magic, both magics were used by Theos.
We can’t exactly say that there will be other lost magics in AO, its Vetex’s list. he ain’t taking in magic suggestions either (even if suggestions were open)
Darkness is already able to be deemed as aether’s counterpart.
