I had a lot to say, so much that I decided that it’s just not worth the bother. I’m more interested on what you guys think. It can be anything= the characters, the plot, the world etc. Anything you may like or dislike about the game story as a whole.
good lore
shit story
verdict: better off as a book ![]()
Skyhall was a step in the right direction but it needs work, I’m hoping Tech’s writing skills drastically improve at Vimir
I think it is overall a good story but parts of it feel very rushed.
I feel like there’s a need for improvement with the pacing. Skyhall in particular feels extremely rushed. Liara and Allanon were stabbed before we had any chance to grow attached to them, which makes Liara’s death have very little emotional weight
and allanon’s boss fight was so infuriating that any emotional attachment we had to him was gone long before he is thrown into the ocean by dad
The Arcane Universe has amazing lore. I can’t really think of a part of the lore document that I find to be uninteresting or flat-out bad.
Maybe it would do better in book format, which would allow Vetex to flesh out the characters more without having to worry about the player getting bored, which is a valid concern especially on this brainrotted, godforsaken platform.
story in game is mehh, so far the only chapter i REALLY liked was chapter 9 but unfortunately we didn’t get chapter 10 to compliment it
the lore and world building is amazing tho, too bad we can’t fully explore everything
just sums up how I feel honestly
yes and no, it’ll definitely help but it won’t fix all it’s issue. Things such as poor characterization and clunky dialogue is just plain bad writing.
did tech write skyhall?
i really like the worldbuilding and it has great potential to make all sorts of stories that arent just “save the worlde”
story is yeah..
Wack but at the same time its vetex’s first time writing a proper story for a game and bronze sea was admittedly super rushed as said by v-man himself.
Skyhall’s story is a positive step for the story despite its major flaws (pacing the most obvious one) so I do have hope that it can get better.
literally all of bronze sea > nimbus sea story (current vetex writing)
whats good about bronze sea, it just felt like a nothing sticked at all but yeah a majority of nimbus sea story sucked too tbh
tired of returning back to sameria..
actually yeah i see now, its not necessarily the writing part but i like how you gradually go through down the bronze sea as the story progresses
unlike nimbus where its go to somewhere return to sameria go to somewhere return to sameria
how many more return to samerias until i TAKE MY LIFE!
I think they both (tech & vetex) collaborate on the entire story
That being said I believe that Tech is more of the story/lore man
if theres a part in vimir sea where we have to burn down yggdrasil i think im gonna lose my fucking mind
I felt like the game underutilized it’s environmental buildings and surrounding the be a good setting for the story. As the pacing as for now felt way too quick and it would be nice to have our gang interact with us outside being involved with The Order of Aesir and war we caused.
The game could’ve also make use of learning new mechanic such as gemcrafting, treasure charting, and even some of the side quest to be a part of the story with our friends that made you “Know” that it’s possible to do “insert activity” and add more interaction with our gang than being locked on story progression that felt “forced”
Liara whole character basically a doomed lover. Her character should’ve been fleshed out so that she feels like an actual believable person doing their best in spite of their circumstances and not just “a poor little thing who is a victim of bigotry and discrimination! Don’t you just feel bad for her?”
Boring, flat characters. Uninteresting story progression. Awful dialogue. A total lack of twists or anything unexpected. I’m pretty confident a lot of this will improve over time (and I hope it does), but as it stands, it’s pretty hard for me to care much about this game’s story as it’s told in-game. The lore of the series, though, is spectacular. An amazing playground for writing without a doubt, and really something quite special despite how much inspiration it took in its early days from other sources.
better than RWBY
hey so i dont like how recently theres no like, dialogue options as of recent
like with my experience with jersaversa quest i was like “why is my character speaking like this??”
Noticed this as well! There’s one dialogue choice at the beginning of the Skyhall story and then not a single one following that.
