just dont add it
Possibly due to the formatting of obtaining these vanities being within a battle pass format. It’s a very good monetization tactic that a good share of us have seen in a lot of games by now. I’m sure I’m not the only when I say that the whole battle pass idea has gotten pretty old.
However I believe the people that care the most, seem to be those focused on the game economy.
I didn’t say that his statement was anything more than implying that criticism shouldn’t happen from the “If you don’t trust me to make decisions” part. But even then, it is a statement that actively allows people to interpret it as, “If you have criticism then it’s bad”.
Obviously, Vetex has a right to defend himself, just like people have the right to gamble or spend thousands of dollars on gachas. But is it helping anyone? No, and it’s certainly not helping development considering how WoM complainers live rent-free in Vetex’s head to this day.
I didn’t might have issues, I have issues. I’m not gonna restate my previous points against battle passes, but simply making a less flawed battle pass is still a no better alternative to just making a more immersive way to pay to get vanity items.
I believe that all battle passes are absolute degenerate ways of monetization, no matter how watered down and hidden they are, because just by existing they allow the REALLY scummy ones to be accepted.
Based on me, the most reliable piece of evidence I have and, frankly, the only piece of true evidence I have. If I see a battle pass anywhere near a new adventure game, I think, “Oh the devs are money goblins, maybe it’s even P2W.” right before I leave and don’t look back.
Sure a lot of children on Roblox have too much brain rot to think otherwise, but it’s very ignorant to assume that that’s what the entire player base is going to consist of.
I didn’t say that about microtransactions, I said that about game passes, which are two HEAVILY different things, despite what you want to believe. Battle passes are simply worse than regular microtransactions, increasing the chances of backlash. But even then, microtransactions still have a chance of driving away players, which is especially true in actual non-roblox games.
Okay but this has nothing to do with my argument against battle passes. In fact, I think animation packs and more ship colors increase player immersion, especially for the buyer so that they can flesh out whatever OC they play as. But these things have nothing to do with battle passes, because battle passes are simply less immersive microtransactions, unlike the examples you listed.
??? On what earth did I say that or even imply that? No, please, point it to me, I want to know. Because if I’ve ever said anything THAT stupid then I’ll gladly mute myself from every avenue of the internet and surgically remove my vocal cords.
It’s almost like, you’re assuming, huh? Assuming and putting words in my mouth? Funny how that works.
I didn’t say my argument was anything other than subjective criticism. In fact, I want more than anything for this topic to be the last nail in the coffin for Vetex to recognize these forums are a clown show and stop going here to find better ways to spend his day. But don’t act like everything on the forums isn’t subjective, because everything here is.
In Conclusion,
I just don’t want a battle pass. Sure you can say that this version isn’t garbage, but you can also say that it’ll solve world hunger. Things are more easily said than done, which is why I’m not open to the idea of a better battle pass, especially when one ounce of brain power can come up with better alternatives. That’s all.
This thread itself is evidence that it’s causing issues with the player base, most of the responses here have been negative.
First of all, taking things without their full context is scummy, but let’s not indulge in that type of discussion.
Robux is a premium currency that you can obtain by using real-life currency and can be used for accessories and gamepasses which are microtransactions according to the very Oxford definition.
Robux just acts as an intermediary.
As for what I said about vanity slots, I was referring to your point about microtransactions with other things I said.
As for the rest of what you said, you are right, this is entirely your point and it’s not in any way objective, so we are just stating opinions at this point, opinions about a feature that might not even come out and is just an idea.
Sure, there might be better alternatives, but this is just one of the many possible ideas for monetization.
u r 10 iq whining for no reason kid get a life
If you wanna insult me then that’s fine, but don’t act like a suncry member defending battle passes has any more of a life than someone making essays arguing against them.
if vetex makes a battle pass what’s the worst case scenario?
If you want the absolute worst case scenario, it’s that the battle pass is so successful that Vetex makes the battle pass an intrusive popup that everybody buys, spiraling the game into a gacha Diablo Immortal and making the game so successful that other countries want exclusive rights of it, causing World War III over Arcane Odyssey and the eruption of Yellowstone, which in turn causes all life on earth to go extinct and the universe implodes.
Well, the chances of that happening aren’t 0…
okay
Resuming, you just REALLY REALLY REALLY hate “battlepasses”
And this is why the forum is a clown show.
You make one joke saying battle passes are going to cause WWIII and Yellowstone and people actually take you seriously.
Also, what’s wrong with animation packs?
another argument
Oh yeah, an in-game UI telling you that you can get more vanity items if you dump “a couple of robux” is the same as an outside gamepass that lets you walk differently.
There’s no need for any of your inputs either. Also, who tf “us”?
You just did lol
the likelihood of the items being tradeable is fairly low, I don’t even know why these people are complaining they have nothing to lose (if the items were tradeable) unlike myself and other traders
he’ll probably have plenty of customization options available for f2p players too
a ui in the shop that you pay robux to get access to and complete activities to get cosmetic items… why is bro so against that
plus vetex said it wont be coming for a hella long time if at all
WOW, things that share a certain quality are the same thing? That’s an interesting and correct statement, why don’t you tell us more?
Thank you, User Aizwrath, for defending the community from this guy calling it a clown show. (You’re so noble)
Arguments and discussion are both conversation, so according to your logic then they’re both the same thing, no?
jesus christ people aren’t going to have a FUCKING STROKE because there’s a paid battle pass for FUCKING COSMETIC ITEMS THAT CANT EVEN BE TRADED
Okay, I was having an argument with Vetex, right? It can also be said I was having a discussion with him. There. Same thing
Look again, it’s happening right now in this topic.
