It’s not a hidden fact that the building update did not boost AO at all, despite the noticeable tremendous effort being put into the update.
I mainly think this was because the update failed to cater a majority of the player base or add anything trilling enough for players to obtain.
I strongly believe that its necessary for Vetex to figure out more common features that the Vteam can add monthly in a presentable way
My suggestion?
Start working on adding skills, techniques, spells, rites and weapons each month with a minimum of 4 each month (preferably covering each class)
Additionally try to involve certain bug fixes or balance changes (IF NESSASARY)
(Despite this being a more PVP oriented suggestion, it covers almost every player as they would have a new skill or weapon to obtain while also making the updates easier in general)
I wanna know what you guys generally think Vetex should work on that will cover a huge pool of players, obviously I mean smaller things that are easier to add.
do note that these are supposed to be “filler updates” essentially things the team can add monthly while they work on the primary updates of the game as an attempt to keep the community happy and occupied.
It did, the player base was boosted to be around 5k in the afternoons, but aside from that I agree with your points.
However, at this point in time, I think it’s better than vetex pushes for a higher level cap and story, as the game has been lacking additional story content for a long, long time.
the issue is that vetex finds that shit boring, galaga might find it fun tho
(add more weapon skills and rites please vetex and galaga i dont wanna have to rely on weapon customization for everything)
Currently the game is at 2k players with the additional Halloween update, this paired with the fact that its backed up by an update that took 4 months is a disappointing result
im not sure what you mean by core player base actually. if you mean the player count itself then its expected for the count to be high right after the update but it shouldn’t have died down this much, especially after an event update
I believe that a gave dev should cater to their community’s interests, this goes to any content creator of any form. it’s harsh but that’s just what it means to be one
I truly believe that the building update had ALOT OF EFFORT put into it, this isn’t no joke of an update as its quite a tedious feature to add
no matter the effort if it isn’t well received then the effort basically goes to “garbage value” or just something that exists but doesn’t feel important or valuable
yeah the issue is it has barely any pve benefits, the only one really being reagent pots
if it had more pve benefits (like those workstation structures mentioned in the trello) then maybe it would be more worthwhile
Next update needs to be absolutely PVE-centric, to compensate for the Guilds Update.
Also, my favorite part about this update was actually the new gear and islands. Now if only that gear provided any benefit outside of trying to befriend deckhands…
Edit: oh and yes, we should definitely have had all builds be finished by now. Like, c’mon Vetex, I doubt it’ll be all that hard to add vitality rites. Chances are they’re just re-flavored magic anyways.
I might not understand exactly but, currently all rare spells are at the least usable by all primary classes, I personally think that the game should relieve ATLEAST 4 skills for each primary class EACH MONTH
but that shouldn’t mean that they are unusable to the hybrids, if each update is allowed time to be focused on story (especially with full release coming, it should give Vetex enough time to add levels and story along with these skills that hop in)
Hot take: for a full update vetex needs to throw out all content promises and work on optimization for a solid 3 months until the game can comfortably run at decent ping. What good is all these fancy new doodads if you are running at 900 ping and 4 fps
I’m basically saying that adding these features monthly instead of a 3-4 month wait with primary updates isn’t helpful and the latter is more likely to keep the community happy
