Funny that you should mention this, because the PM games do a very similar thing. This isn’t even what the topic was originally about but apparently both try to make as many things canon as possible.
I’m pretty sure that some of the LoR music does actually canonically play
(not all of it, but I think some of the battle music does)
Also for some reason the artbooks are canon, not sure if the developer notes are but the books themselves are.
