Aside from a small part of the community which is talented and helpful, most of it is filled with toxicity, especially Fractions. This is also due to the unbalanced class system in which certain classes are meta and unfair and unbalanced, and PvP mains are either cowards who rely on potions to keep their 100 fame, or sweats who can’t stop annoying others. There’s the occasional chill guy who’s actually good at PvP but they’re rare.
For me it’s how the game feels both bloated as hell and yet shallow. There are tons of different mechanics (food, brewing, gem crafting, chests, sea charts, est), and yet they honestly don’t feel that fleshed out.
I don’t really see any problems in AO including the ganking and manhandling a lone guy 3 on 1 stuff, it’s pretty common on most of the RPG games I’ve played as a kid.
That said, the only problems are those small clans who are hell bent on harassing people, It’s actually amazing how it’s not even that big of a problem yet (I don’t mean clans like NP btw, the rookie clans I mean).

For some reason booting up the game causes it to repeatedly crash to desktop until it eventually starts working reliably again.
This only happens if I take a several day long break from the game.
For the duration the game does this, it also causes my entire computer to slow to a crawl which is great!!!

the additional stats from jewelcrafting cause power creep and a power gap between people who do and don’t want to hop around the stepstones or go on dark sea expeditions over and over for 4 horus

I was talking to my friend about this the other day. AO is a wide but shallow lake, whereas AA was a small but deep pond. AA had 2-3 years to flesh out it’s world and content before it was broken whereas AO has only been out for 8 months now.
I truly believe AO should be evaluated on whether it was a successful sequel or not when its given the same amount of time as AA (around 2-3 years) to fix core issues, flesh out all of its content, etc.

Thing is roblox should not be considered as a platform because of that. They are more or less a publisher at that point and publishers can do anything to an ip.

I don’t like how much rng the game has. It’s one thing to have boss drops, that sort of stuff is fine. But making literally every cosmetic and basic ass version of each weapon be locked to treasure chests is mind boggling. Why have tailor and weapon salesmen npcs if they aren’t gonna sell that many different clothes or any sort of weapon whatsoever? Why can’t I buy a gun and sword from a shop like in AA? There’s no reason for that kind of thing to be so random.
The fact that it is on Roblox. Arcane Odyssey in a real game engine, one that doesn’t abide by all the absurd restrictions and lack of tools that this platform does, would be so insanely good.
Cooking and Hunger if you want issues that aren’t because it’s on Roblox, or the fact that we can already deal 500+ Damage depending on our build within THE FIRST SEA. OF SIX.
I’m still shaken about that one Crystal/Acid Mage I saw who did over 800 Damage with an Ultimate Art Explosion.
