But fr though i’m pretty sure his second phase is his activation of his grand father’s lost spell which i’m pretty sure embudes his body with the lost spell’s power

None of this was his grandfathers power, his grandfather, Nero weilded a curse powerful enough to destroy a kingdom in one attack and if you watch closely after calvus placed explosion attack there is a teal shockwave that sends us flying, thats his grandfathers power

King Calvus has the lost spell “Transformation” which upon use emits glowing hair on the user and whatever magical cosmetics they may want whether that’d be magic wings or a glowing burning eye like Theos.
His grandfather’s special power is the ancient magic apocalypse bringer, which King Calvus is borrowing, shown by the slight teal colored explosions after his Aether light attacks.

Proof that it’s apocalypse bringer?
No actual proof really, I think I saw some mod semi confirming that it was in fact Apocalypse Bringer. Also the book in Akursius Keep stated it as a “bright teal explosion” or maybe it wasn’t an explosion but a flash? Calvus’ grandfather was probably a prodigy mage who can use ancient magic very well (or maybe was inherited this power at a young age like Iris)
Also I disagree the theory that the grandfather had the Apocalypse Bringer curse, if he had it he would’ve inherited it through his sons by the usage of the Devourer, he’s just a powerful mage.

I didn’t catch that detail… If you could can you screenshot where it is said? Because if he truly had the curse then it’s pretty stupid for the grandfather that he didn’t inherit it through his sons or something (is he also dead?)
It’s in the eternal mines dialogue where the dude there says the he flew over to Winterveil with his curse and destroyed it

We don’t know about the colour but that doesn’t matter since no other ancient magic fits the description and appearance
