What is this

bc after his pillar i his second stage there are aftershockwaves

I mean apocalypse bringer

we dont know but * Apocalypse Bringer - Extremely unstable and explosive.

(Now Edited) Okay so apparently this is what we know:

  • King Nero was the former King of Ravenna
  • He has a curse that allows him to fly
  • The curse is also pretty explosive
  • Chaos emits teal light and scorches things black as per the book in Akursius Keep
  • The crazy man at Akursisu Keep somehow knew that the event there would take place by a vision and went crazy
  • Akursius Keep makes you high, even before it was destroyed, probably due to the fact that it’s ruins were created from the aftermath of Winterveil
  • Nero has some type of hereditary ability that allows Calvus to go Super Saiyan - Potentially Aether Magic???

Apocalypse Bringer is known to be incredibly unstable and explosive and somewhat fits the description, so it could be it

King Nero nuked WINTERVEIL, not Akursius Keep, i seriously don’t understand why you people keep bringing that up because it doesn’t make any sense to use as evidence for anything nero curse related (as far as we know, and it doesn’t seem likely to me either)

Winterveil gets nuked, Akursius Keep gets built sometime later (idt there’s anything on the time skip there, but it seems like there is one), stands for 50 years, Rackham gets stationed there, it gets destroyed a few months later

I don’t see why he would go around destroying his own forts, if he is even alive by the time it actually gets destroyed, and the description of what destroyed it also seems to match the curse that Morden uses, it’s first mentioned as a teal (light? energy?) in the book but later on in the red text mentioned as a black and teal wisp-like energy (i am fairly sure of this, will fact check when able)

The descriptions of the lost and ancient magics are very vague, and also are not curses but curses are also pretty vague so whatever, but it would seem to fit [[Aether Magic - Explosive and bright light.]] more than Apocalypse Bringer

Whatever calvus uses in his second phase is at least heavily implied to be imbued into his triasta, not something hereditary, not sure how to explain the pre-emptive effects that the men stationed at the fort were suffering before it getting destroyed, I guess chaos is mentioned which is attracted to “evil” but that might just loop around back to the maybe curse that was used to destroy the place

Akursius Keep stood for 20 years

Y1780-ish - January Y1807

Also it was King Octavious Caesar who had to deal with the fallout of this, since it was 47 years before the start of AO and Calvus was very likely not born yet.

Arcane Odyssey - Akursius Keep + Journal Spot - YouTube, 1:59
1 fps video but whatever, not bothered, but the book states otherwise as seen in that video

haven’t done much research when it comes to who ruled ravenna at what time, also doesn’t really matter that much since all we really NEED to know is that nero was calvus’s grandfather

Man I can’t wait for AO to have lost magics (Phoenix and Sun specifically)

From what I understand Akursius Keep was built on Winterveil after King Nero nuked it.

Aight I’m done Lore’ing all over the place now

yes, that is established, but that’s the only connection between Winterveil, Nero and Akursius Keep
but he didn’t nuke Akursius Keep thus there’s not much relation between the curse that he used and the description of whatever happened to Akursius Keep, which is what i think you’re referring to

me who knows what the curse nero had was reading all your attempts:

Magic pollution is the main theory I’m going to leave here. If Nero’s curse is truly that destructive then it makes sense for there to be some form of delayed consequence.

“My lawyers advised me not to continue with this joke” curse

The green attack is supposedly a combination of his yellow aether magic with the blue apocalypse curse

Fart curse

Akursius Keep was destroyed by Chaos which was attracted to the earth after Durza’s death. (Cryonical’s theory)
+Nero was already dead and Akursius Keep became Ravenna Fort, Nero won’t destroy his own fort lol…
+Apocalypse Bringer is believed to be an elemental magic, while description of power on Akursius Keep was something like poor insanity, so its was not elemental power and guards haven’t seen any hostile people there, so it is was something like aura of the very strong invisible creature, like spirit or smth, so its most likely Chaos.

Very delayed consequence in that case, which is kind of what puts me off from that
But if it is in collateral with something else which i guess could then be whatever destroyed akursius keep plus the lingering magic pollution, and maybe that attracts chaos (cuz i’m still not sure how that ties into this, it’s pretty heavily mentioned in the journal)

The whole “Chaos did it” thing just kind of seems cheap to me, but it could’ve certainly had something to do with it, maybe with the weird psyche effects that affected the people that were there? Not sure what else that we currently know of would do that

(Unrelated)
If it is Chaos then it supports my theory that Chaos and the Dark Seas are related.

  • Chaos is somewhat living
  • Chaos is malevolent and causes insanity
  • The Dark Seas move (could be seen as they are living)
  • Magic pollution could be what attracts Chaos, hence Akursius Keep and the Dark Seas (the Old Seas too if you want to go there)

As someone who knows what the curse is, it does.

It could also just be related with the secret we see in Akursius keep that causes instant insanity 5. Maybe some ritual that caused the destruction, or a ritual that summoned/attracted/lured in Chaos.
