Now depending on who you are and what you believe in, we all have different types of humor that ranges very vastly between all types of people. Randomly I thought about a certain topic that just my class talked about last school year about making fun of people. Now I know this is a very broad question so you can try to answer the way you think the question is given. The main question is, When do jokes cross the line? I’m very curious as to what other people believe as to what degree a joke can reach to just be harmful to a person. Depending on if you’re a don’t care/ toughen-up person or a frequent Twitter user, there are many types of answers that vary so I’m curious as to what the people on the forums think on this subject?
When a joke proceeds to mock what makes someone happy then that sort of crosses the line depending on how much you are against it.
overly offending to a group or person or just basically attacking them ig
another being using your head and not joking about humanitarian crisis or smth as like finding the incident amusing or smth with the ppl going through it idk
Anyone that is part of cancel culture
Yup that definitely sucks.
When it relies completely on negative stereotypes and crass humor
Crass humor? Is it something like a joke made without further thought.
I’m pretty lax when it comes to crossing the line but when actual people are hurt, that’s when you’ve gone too far
I have seen that happen man.
stuff that’s very bottom-of-the-barrel / unclever. Reliance on dumb and overdone stereotypes is definitely part of this, but also really stupid shit like fart jokes e.e
Ah alright. I can see the type of jokes now.
For me personally I think it depends on who is on the receiving end and if you truly believe what you are saying
when you joke about hitler and stalin playing cards in hell, apparently
IT WAS A JOKE
Seriously, the odd1sout gets to joke about it to kids but you can’t do it on a forum full of “adults”?
I’d say teens/adolescents, but sure
Yeah most people here seem to be in high school.
it crosses the line when your only defense for the joke is, “it’s dark humour bro chill xd,” or when it’s a lame stereotype
also when it has do with anything that involves abusing kids
Ex: “haha i have kids in my basement”
You spelt “were” wrong, so I can’t imagine it offending someone.
uh, you know @Robotstics server? Yeah, uh, ask them. for, reasons.
