Why arnt guns more common?

Okay title might be a little misleading but what I want to know is why are guns like the musket so uncommon in the militaries of the war seas lore wise? Like the only people to actually issue guns seems to be the navy and random ass ragtag group of pirates, what’s the deal there? Why don’t these large super powerful empires like the bronze legion or the Samarian whatever issue guns, why are they still using swords and shields?

When just about any decently competent aura user can throw out slashes of condensed air like nothing guns kind of lose their main advantage

Then why does the Navy use em? Isn’t there whole deal to hunt people like that?

Also same thing with swords, how are you even going to get close with that being your enemy, at that point ditch the armies they ain’t doing shit

Beats me, though if I had to hazard a guess probably just because it’s easier to train someone to use a gun than a sword even if aura renders the innate advantages of a weapon useless

Platoons of soldiers can still at least deal some damage to more skilled opponents, plus they can serve as a distraction

They just m1 spam each other

It’s hard to make hitscan weapons fun and balanced in a game with an emphasis (and also de-emphasis) on movement

oh wait i realize what youre asking hold on

i vaguely recall hearing something about the bronze sea being the less technologically-advanced corner of the war seas a year or two back, which… might explain the lack of firearms on ravenna/samerian troops? i don’t actually even remember where i heard that from though so don’t take my word for it. for all i know my lethargic ass actually might have just made that shit up.

the Thorne empire has more advanced guns if I remember correctly, however guns are also probably quite popular in the Marauding Sea based off Captain Maria’s guns

might be the reload times, these are just flintlocks and muskets

Even then wouldn’t guns be easier to use and inflict more damage, even if you have to have half your guys running up with swords because it’s more distracting having the other half sit on the hill with guns to strike when they’re distracted would be far more effective then just more swords

Not lore

That could make sense

I think they are expensive here in the north seas, because main producer is located far in the south. And, GNavy seems to be heavily sponsored (logic wise) force with their main domain being sea, therefore their biggest interest would be keeping low weight of their ship (rest in peace metal swords and armor) to be able to catch up with pirates in case they’ll try to escape.

As for pirates - they probably use whatever they manage to scavenge from rich merchants or dead GNavy members.

backup weapon

because what good will an iron ball do against a guy who can maybe blow up a island, if your waiting for guns to be useful wait till we get to the chimera sea

well, you have to remember that the iron ball is travelling pretty fast
and it can be imbued with magic
and those guys that can blow up islands are either made from squishy flesh, or vulnerable to magic

magic energy is the reason why mfs dont erupt into fire when their hit by a level 1 magma blast, this can also be applied to anything imbued with magic energy.

so if a level 50 equivalent joe shoots a metal ball imbued with magic energy at a level 600 equivalent it wont do anything to them beacuse the level 600 equivalent guy has much stronger magic energy hence higher defense

plus most metal is irradiated to hell by magic energy
