I’m just now realizing how stupid this argument is lol
point is, ai cannot replicate human feelings, emotions, or soul, but is a good tool for people to make art, just like all other artificial intelligence.

to generate images*
mb g you right
I won’t take Azumarill slander here either, peak pokemon
anyways I don’t understand the argument about water recycling and kids that have cholera infected water.
Like, yeah, we can recycle water in developed nations. Where are the ai stores being built? Probably in the places where water is abundant and can be recycled. What if we don’t use the water for it? It’s not gonna get shipped to those kids desperately in need of water, so this appeal to emotion is irrelevant.
also for the lazy non artist argument: that’s just ad hominem. Art is hard. Really hard. I can say it myself: I’m not going to get to the levels I really want to anytime in the next ten years. I’m still not gonna use ai but the point I’m making here is that you’re not lazy for not being able to devote multiple years to a hobby that is going to get you about 50 dollars a month at most unless you’re a furry porn artist. Again this wouldn’t justify the use of ai but the point of my statement is that “you’re just lazy” is irrelevant.
excuse me what
those people make some serious money
the main issue with ai art is that it steals art from actual artists to train data with, if you use it for a meme or something nobody really cares but anything more and its just weird
this is the objectively correct answer, no flawed logic that I can point out
how would you know, unless…
i wonder why artist says AI will take their job if they doesnt have one in first place
Tbh artists are needed for concept art and design, mostly in studios.
dont make me put you into the ghibli ai slop, first warning
should i start drawing furry porn
this is what i get for skipping to the end of a post
Yeah NO SHIT
I don’t feel like arguing here because there is nothing ya’ll can say that will change my mind about AI
Okay my take
I am not against the use of AI but I do think in general people treat it incorrectly and that people should take considerably more care and consideration when using AI.
I don’t believe AI can generate artwork because artwork requires some passion and spirit behind it, that’s sort of the whole thing about art. Artificial ‘Intelligence’ is just fancy statistics (with some dark magic computing mixed in) and a lot of data at its core.
I’ll try and stick to the focus of the topic but this can apply to anything generated by AI. I do not think there is anything wrong with just generating imagery with AI for whatever purposes, although personally I would consider it ‘low effort/quality’ in any professional circumstance. I do think it’s wrong to try and pass off AI generated imagery as art or original works, because that’s plain disrespectful.
I think there’s a large issue that lies in how AI is trained and because it’s relatively new technology (at least on the widely available scale it is now) laws haven’t really caught up with it and that’s an issue. Hopefully laws do eventually catch up.
The environmental issue is just… bad. AI isn’t the sole technology we use contributing to this, I don’t know the exact statistics (helpful if someone can look them up before I get a chance) but I’m sure the data centres for Google Drive are similarly as bad. Once again this probably requires legislation to catch up.
Same applies to problematic or dangerous content being generated.
I’m no expert or knowledgeable of the laws but that’s my take.
