I find it preferable to just not be on X(formerly known as Twitter).
true
I feel like if you use it to help you with something you suck at, and you don’t want to take the time to learn said thing, then its all good. Or if you just want to screw around with how bad AI is.
Anything more than that is a no-go for me. “I made this art with myself!” shut up, no you didn’t. Don’t claim that garbage as your creation; you’re already too lazy to make it yourself.
Essentially the only real interactions i have made with ai
Messed around with an ai that made songs, everything stays there, just stuff i’ve messed around with, felt more fun than whatever the visual art was doing
this is how ai is supposed to be used imo
its so silly sometimes
Yeah, for the funnies, i haven’t used it in some time tho, doing other things for enjoyment, might go back to it eventually and mess around some more though
(ok i actually don’t use twitter alot)
I didn’t understand the last part, I get that normal people using AI art DOES train it but an above comment claims that AI art uses “farms of computers to generate the art” wouldn’t that mean that even if we reduced the people using it. it would still train?
Like essentially the best you would do is make the AI developer buy a few solar panels and an extra computer just for them to be massively funded by some annoying colorless cooperate anyways.
Most anime watchers use piracy sites to watch anime, ALOT of people also use ad blockers on many regular sites. This isn’t exactly a good point when common folk have always taken advantage of things that won’t tie them to risk.
the AI needs art to train in the first place, AI developers should ask permission/pay the artists or even have their own team of artists to create art for them
thou this isn’t a legal thing in the law yet sadly (or so i think)
This mentality will only make it harder for artists and regular peeps, regular people often DON’T CARE, and will ALWAYS use something to their advantage if we can, attacking sad regular people will turn them against you, Artists quickly need to aim their crosshairs at the people STEALING THEIR ART as soon as possible or it will stop anytime soon
IF you think AI can’t replace artists then you are simply ignorant
why do residents get upset at thieves who steal from their home?
TBH I feel like the few people you are targeting are a small minority, for the most part people who use AI art agree that it’s bad for artists and that it’s basically just thelft, blanketing common people with a few idiots shouldn’t be of practice in the Art community as it’s a bad image for them
As for artists losing jobs, this is part of exactly why the art community needs to attack the developer by pushing for laws and such. attacking people using it is USELESS and it’s much better to stop the source directly
I mean, I don’t think it’s stealing to look at and/or analyze something to learn from it, people do that every day, why can’t the robot have a go?
I want to know what the difference is, this is not a rhetorical question.
also this isn’t gonna stop with the art community, Video editors, animators, model creators, composers and many other communities are about to be under fire as well
We DESPERATELY need to push for laws to protect creator communities from having our work stolen in the first place, We did this mistake by allowing AI art in the past to do whatever it wants and we laughed at how it horribly tried too mimic art but allowing it to feed is a mistake and we somehow need to cut it’s good supply
A good example of this is console emulators, Imagine i just studied your code and enabled a bunch of people to bypass buying your product and possibly related assets
Hmmmmmmm!
But emulation is respected…
it’s respected cuz COOPERATE COMPANIES use NONSENSE tactics to STEAL OUR MONEY RAHHHHH
but yeah it’s still illegal isn’t it? and yeah AI art is kinda the same
i’m not talking about training, i’m talking about supporting the companies that make the programs. if you buy/use their product, that tells the company to keep doing what they’re doing
