Why do artists attack people that use AI for art?

bcuz ai is literally an affront to human creativity

you shouldn’t use it because a. it steals from artists b. it looks like shit c. you can commission artists d. you can learn to draw e. it’s bad for the environment

tho honestly I’m already out of juice and patience for this crap I’m ngl I’ve exhausted myself

can all of you lot please calm up cloudcrosser was just asking an honest question :sob:

You clearly did not read my whole reply :sob:

Steals from artists how? As in putting them out of a job?

Ai uses art made by actual people for its training, and people never ask if they can do so.

i’m just restating all my points in one bcuz i’m too lazy to separate them neatly and expand on them

(partially because i got done with 6 hours of aoing doing the damn event on a third file)

I mean I’m also employed and those people in the pictures look old enough to work and they managed to improve in under a week. I’d say learning how to draw is better long term than getting AI art short term is.

dont real people do that aswell?

crimis told me to look at art on google for inspiration
isnt that the exact same thing

i have the equivalent of a 9-5 (school :wilted_flower: ) and i learned to draw well enough

no.

it isn’t due to the massive scale of the art being used, and the fact that it’s uncredited and is being used for something like ai

also you probably should cite the artist who you used as inspiration/references, it’s bad even if it’s just you and not an ai if you’re not crediting people for what they helped you with

are you gonna elaborate on that or nah

is your school 8 hours a day? thats pretty crazy

Also another thing is that each person sees things differently which is different from a machine that only follows orders.

If you ask a group of people to draw something by looking at an single image then you’ll have 10 vastly different results compared to ai which will make 10 similar images unless it was ordered to.

in my example i was tryna refer to ai art being used for personal use, not posted publicly

Don’t think that argument is a correct comparison

define personal use

Nah it’s totally correct.

I’m pretty sure machines don’t have brains or eyes to view things differently like humans do.

from 9 to 4:45 (also homework and allat)

i aint gonna cuz other people have explained it better than i could

Ten different ai would make different things. One person making ten artworks would be very similar just like one ai

The way a person learns to draw can be used as a parallel with the database of an ai

Your comparison would be more valid if it were ten ai and ten people, since a person and an ai are both the source of the generated image/artwork

some people like to write their own stories and stuff and they may use ai art as a way of generating an image of one of their characters

Personal story or public

If it’s public then it’s closer to a commercial use of the drawn image, in which case you should cite your sourcws

real people put their own spin on things, ai does not.
