when i see ai art it’s not even “art” it’s just patterns this hunk of code stitched together from millions of pieces of REAL art and everyone who uses ai is either just lazy (which is not a badge of honor and shows how you’re kinda just unintelligent) jealous because they wanna “get back” at artists out of jealousy which so stupid imo

literally look at ancient frescoes in Pompeii and the damn gorgeous statues and renaissance paintings like THAT has meaning THAT has soul. like ik americans are uncultured af and will never understand this with their hamburger grease covered fingers but what makes art art is the fact that it’s HUMAN ai “art” isn’t even “art” because art has meaning and purpose and layers. ai is just meaningless because it’s not human. it boggles my mind how some twitter nft ai bro could look at the birth of venus by Botticelli then remake it with ai and say that the ai version is better 
I’ve been to the louvre myself and I’ve seen real beautiful art that brings tears to your eyes. ai brings tears of hatred and disgust to my eyes not ones of awe and reverence

I don’t think ai art should replace humans in the slightest. I do not think it can replicate the soul that artists put into their work. but it is a good tool to assist people who aren’t good at drawing, just like every other piece of artificial intelligence that works properly.
you automatically assume that I ‘love ai art’ because I’m not vehemently against it, which is not true. I think it is funny and stupid, and as long it is used in that way and people don’t start using it like the nft bros you mention, ai art is all good, and human art will forever be superior.

I am not defending this stuff, I’m just saying that the hate is unnecessary. i suck at drawing, so I (I hardly do this) sometimes go to ai when I don’t feel like asking one of my friends or learning how to draw. ai is not optimal, its not glorious, but it is an option.
technology has made water pretty dang recyclable. we can start a ‘what takes water’ war, but I’m much too tired to remember the exact amount of water different everyday things require so I’d rather not…
if it was that bad for the environment it wouldn’t be so widespread. once again, water is pretty dang recyclable, and so many different processes use water that lazily generating a goofy image of an Azumarill is not going to kill the environment.
geez man, its not that bad like I said, its used to help people who cant do it themselves. and if people are using it for its INTENDED PURPOSE it is a good thing. it should NEVER take away from the Importance and brilliance of artists, but it also isn’t just utter garbage.
even in saying this, I am scared that soon enough it will become too good. I just want it to stay stupid man 
the ‘people in the past had to figure it out themselves!’ argument is always weird to me. yeah, they did, but I don’t live in the past. I live in a new time period where things are VERY different from how they were.
and I’m not trying to hide behind ai lol. I hardly ever use it, and when I do, its for dumb stuff that is mostly me screwing around with robots or trying to visualize some characters for my stories and such.

Kinda crazy that people are talking about how they don’t wanna spend the time to learn to draw when they can get it conveniently from AI.
Yet these people of varying ages and skill managed to improve greatly in just 5 days in a workshop.
These are from pages 56-57 of “Drawing on the Right Side of the brain”
Even if it really did take a lot to improve at art, I’d say creative skills should be pursued anyways since you’d be missing out on the experience and enlightenment that comes with it (You can surprisingly transfer tons of skills to others).
I have brought sources and correctly cited them so hopefully nobody should be able to argue against this point.
I love it when reading and research comes in handy.

okay im not gonna take too much time to argue here but here’s what im gonna say on this matter
i have seen a lot of arguments in support of ai which i am going to list here
“i dont have time to learn to draw” maybe not, just get someone else to do it if that’s the case. commissions to expensive for you? find some art on google that visualizes your 
creative vision without using ai
“art tools are too expensive” there are a lot of free drawing softwares and such out there. alternatively, you can buy a notebook and pencils at your local convenience store
“i’m too bad at drawing so i should use ai instead” ouroboros mentality, just try to get better
try find something on google that visualizes it in a way that doesn’t use ai hope this helps!

Yeah I think it would be much better for people to learn to draw and whatnot because I think it’s a great hobby
