oh boy just finished reading and uh this topic seems neat thus far.
for me it’s cause i’m a writer, bored, literally part of my nature, and sometimes want significance within the file(s) i play. most of the time it’s literally out of habit as i’ve been making up stories my entire life thus far cause whenever i was bored or had nothing better to do. sometimes i get attached to some progress i’ve made and what not and decide mid way thru to make lore.
and like danny said, i make files that fit a type of genre for lore and gameplay reasons, such as my first file being a bounty hunter, one being an alchemist with pure magic size, pirate being weapons and either fighting or magic, blacksmith with magic and weapons, etc.
