Even Cursebeard prayed it would never be found
Maybe, but since they’re in complete control of their magic, they could just disappear it
If they don’t get crushed to death first
Unless john curse user decides to create multiplanetary scale density objects, that ain’t gonna happen
The realistic thing is “hey if I crush this it gets hotter” flashbang of hawking radiation
“woops”
True, and it’s unlikely any singularities that may been created would be stable enough nor large enough to pose a meaningful threat.
However seeing as they have complete control of the element they create, it’s very likely they could split the atoms they produce.
I don’t think magic is made out of atoms, it’s more like a 3D projection.
Although they can still make black holes, since e=mc^2 and all that.
Otherwise, “ultimate art: metal magic, uranium variation: atom bomb!”
Magic is sure, that’s just energy configured to look like matter. Curse’s are different matter Curse Bearers (i.e. wood or glass) they create physical objects that have real mass. So it is horrifyingly possible that a Curse Bearer could split the atoms they create if they had the knowledge to, which they might given how intuitive Curses are.
Yes, but it’s still magic energy. (Confirmed by vetex)
Unless you are implying the horrifying possibility curse users have enough direct energy output to synthesize mass directly out of energy, I don’t think it’s still the real deal. Just a nigh-perfect copy
I don’t think it’s all that complicated, with curse made stuff just not having atoms for some reason, I think its just not something you’re really meant to think about and there’s some unspoken limit on it. Otherwise somebody probably would’ve blown up the planet by now as a hail mary. And not like Durza, I mean like totally wipe it off the face of the galaxy with a black hole.
Thinking about stuff like that is my specialty
I mean so long as we’re not acting like that’s intended or canonically possible for curse users we’re good. Beyond that this is a fun thought experiment.
Also the idea curse users are creating atoms implies weird stuff for things like the plasma/apocalypse bringer/death curse
Plasma being separate because what is it plasma of? Hydrogen? But then it’s just the hydrogen curse or something, but hotter
And the other 2 because, Yknow
Except Wotan’s fleets are made of wood that he makes using his curse. Seeing as his men are able to stand on them, those ships have to have some mass. Which means he is able to create and manipulate atoms. Which makes sense since curses are based off the Olympian version of magical energy, which allowed them to shape the planet in various ways.
Also on the point of energy curses … Yeah I got no clue about them not gonna lie, I mostly know stuff about matter and how to transfer it to energy.
Matter curse user: “hey what if I just, didn’t turn the energy into a solid form”
Moments later, the planet was destroyed
To be fair this whole thing became dangerous as soon as Vetex called it magic energy. Seeing as magic that simulates matter appears to be densely packed energy. Which implies a perceived equivalency between matter and magic energy.
I personally headcanon it may be possible to transmute matter into different substances by transforming it into magic energy, using the potential energy of the atoms as fuel. I.e. dirt to water or lead to gold. Overall the way that magic energy works in the AU has wild implications when you think about for too long like I do.
Wow it’s almost like alchemy is an established mechanic
To be fair, alchemy in AO, as far as we know, is just potion brewing and casting enchantments.
We never hear about them transmuting materials or anything like that.
Enizor quest
Right, Enizor is researching that particular type of alchemy, I forgot about that.
Wasn’t it something about an object that could grant immortality etc?
Yeah, and transmute stuff into other stuff
