i think this is pretty nice
souls players (including me) will be very happy with this
i’m very happy about this
no way, mfs are going to be spamming dodge
People already do thar
same, i swear sometime parrying just stop working as intended, its so annoying how i hold the f key during the last frames of endlag and i dont block, i ate so many 300 dmg bc of that
Buffer moment. .
Anyway: dodge i-frames sound annoying to fight against though.
Ah yes, buff to mobility(as in a major mobility tool got random buff, not distance/speed buff) for what reason?
Like cool, but why?
It might be cool though, but it is really random.
name checks out
Is it an indirect nerf to size? Since the amins benefit of size is it’s hard to dodge, dodge iframes let’s you dodge even if you are inside the hitbox?
You do realise it’s only 200 milliseconds seconds people can hit when it’s over… it’s much better to time your dashes accordingly than spam.
I’m pretty sure some people have wanted this for a while; even before AO had released, former tester Selectorch had released a youtube video saying dodges would benefit from having iframes. At that time vetex said that iframes would be unnecessary since he had already planned for dodge upgrades (reflex dodges) to be a thing at that point, but I guess he’s ended up being convinced that it’d be a good change
He’s been more open to opinions after the name change incident
ya i noticed he makes more polls for stuff now
That’s actually rather interesting.
I’m not the biggest fan, but I guess I’ll see how it pans out.
Is there any particular reason it’d be a good change?
(Dodging is already spammed so it just adds more stuff to the AO mobility awkwardness. Dodging i-frame just incentives more dodging. As much as I love double tapping everywhere I go I think I’d prefer a distinction between a dash and a dodge.)
I don’t like this. Dashing has no cooldown, so if this is real it means you literally wouldn’t be able damage someone until they stop moving due to either endlag or fat fingering.
its 200ms tho, its not for the whole dashing period
okay good point
but if people learn to time right then the pvp is going to immensely depend on parrying/dodge timing(as if it didn’t already, aside from damage, build, stats, potion effects, and so on and so forth)
and that’s bad because…?
idk but it doesn’t seem like a problem to me but what if two pvpers were too good at timing dodges
how would they win
