No they shouldn’t, not using a part of your progression for the sake of aesthetic shouldn’t let you be equal to people who grinded their ass of for a lost or ancient magic

We’ve known this for a long while now, actually.
Warlocks are so screwed in the lategame. The fact that only your 2nd magic can become lost has some awful implications.
Let’s say you’re a Warlock who chose to get a 2nd fighting style instead of a 2nd magic. You would only be able to get a lost fighting style, meanwhile Berserkers get TWO lost fighting styles, one of which can be upgraded to ancient-tier. That is not balanced…
And if you choose to be a Warlock with high investment in magic, but still chose to pick a 2nd fighting style instead of a 2nd magic (which some people will do for synergy reasons), you might not even have enough strength to learn a lost fighting style, leaving you with NO lost stuff at all.
Couple this with the fact Warlocks have no equivalent to Strength Weapons and Arcanium Weapons, and this is a recipe for disaster.
If base magic enhancement does get added, I’m sure you’ll probably need a scroll for it so that you need to grind just as much as a lost magic user would in order to have equal power to them.
