because the pika in pikachu comes from pikapika, the japanese onomatopoeia for sparkle, not the animal

also pokemon was made for a japanese audience originally, so they would’ve thought of pikapika anyway

I’d fight cyndaquil, not because I’d win but because it’s my favorite pokemon. I’d probably get burned to death but atleast I got to experience it’s cuteness and warmth.
