Visual Effects: Literally how fireworks look. It would have two variants
Festival: Yellow as its main color with sparks of red and orange
Starburst: Pink as its main color with sparks of yellow and blue.
Status Effect(s):
Smoldering - Basically the regular burning effect but it lasts over a long period of time and has slower ticks with higher damage. This is applied on a DIRECT HIT from a blast or beam or from the Epicenter of an explosion type spell.
Flashed - Similar to light and shadows status effect, This one impedes vision but also does a small amount of damage, If it is applied multiple times in a short amount of time period it will cause the target to be stunned. This can ONLY be applied from the AOE of any spell.
Lore:
Firework Magic is one of the newer manmade magics, It was created by an experiened ash mage from the Ryujin Dynasty in collaboration with an experienced Thorne Empire explosion mage that used to be apart of the Thorne military but had later defected to the Ryujin Dynasty. It is commonly seen during festivals that take place in the Ryujin Dynasty. Typically only two to three Firework mages are present during these. The magic lights up the sky with color and brilliance, However on the field of battle it paralyzes the footsoldiers of the Thorne Empire with fear, blinding and deafening the soldiers with its loud bursting explosions.
The actual method of “learning” the magic is not done in the traditional sense with a Hecate Shard due to the fact that it is made by man as oppoesd to by the gods. It is rather a magic that is learned through scroll reading and through practice of conducting the magic. The only magics capable of “mutating” into Firework magic are Explosion and Ash.
The process of becoming a Firework mage can often be dangerous as overcasting spells can inflict harm upon yourself due to its explosive and bright nature, Some apprentices of Firework magic are deaf, blind or only just partially some are even burned with magic energy. In rare cases there are Firework Mages that remain fully deaf and blind after mastering the magic. As of a result these mages must rely on their sensing, The Explosion Mage who had helped create Firework Magic originally became fully deaf and blind due to repeated use of it in the process of mastering it. Because of this they had to train their sensing to its absolute pinnacle. They are now renowned for their heightened sensing ability across the War Seas.
As for how common Firework Magic is outside of the Ryujin Dynasty, It remains extremely uncommon and rare to come across people who wield it. Anyone who wields the magic is likely a student of the magic or someone who had defected from the dynasty.
