A funky one may be a magic with average stats-garbage dmg but it’s gimmick is it deals a small amount of %dmg
2 magic ideas:
1st: Smite magic
description: allows the user to charge deadly beams of sun mass that decimate anything on contact
2 damage (read more)
1 speed
0.6 size
effect: Charge - deals no damage the first 3 attacks and then the attack damage x2 on the 4th attack.
has cool orange-gold lightning vfx
artist’s representation: smite lightning segment on left, normal lightning segment yellow variation on right
2nd: dark energy
0.95 damage
0.7 speed
1.2 size
effect: Warped - Creates a part in front of the hit player’s camera that turns their vision into an inverted purple and also rotates their camera for a short duration (stackable), also has knockback like wind magic
vfx would look bluish purple and would look like plasma magic if the orbs it created randomly strechted and rotated
artist’s representation of status effect:
WrathScorcher
A magic that swirls with searing energy conjured out of pure malice, it appears to be a highly unstable fusion of thyphon, plasma, darkness, and heat; unleashes devastating calamity in its wake and inflicts the “ravaged” status effect against targets, causing them to suffer from horrific burns that damage the body, mind, and soul, thus weakening the size affinities of those unfortunate enough to cross this magic’s path.
Oh my goodness, the Four-way fusion is even more powerful than mine. Speaking of the question, how much damage does Wrathscorcher have?
Damage: 2.8x
Speed: 1.5x
Size: 1.5x
Ravaged: Deals 75% of the initial attack’s damage over the course of 5 ticks, during its duration, it drastically shrinks the size affinity of targets by 20%
Awesome! I like your four-way fusion magic
Destruction magic, wombo combo between typhon and shatter that does percentage damage in addition to regular as a result of bones being crushed, regardless of their dursbility.
“As a result of fusing two extremely unstable magic’s together that shake continents alone, their combined powers shred armies and ancient dragons alike; with few being able to survive, much less withstand the shattering tempest caused by those who use this magic”.
Anyways, a Chonky damage stat of 3.0, 0.9 speed, and 1.6 size. Does small percentage damage (1%) each hit under “fractured” effect.
Destruction multiplier of 15.
Deep, ultramarine blue w/ black cracks.
Make a suggestion to get it added when lost magics drop.
do u think i could do that LOL, thatd be so awesome
also another lost magic in my mind was a fire type one called chasmfire (a pink/purple flame) so i might draw it soon
Go to vetcord with a bunch of concepts and get a mod to throw some at vetex, should have a decent chance for some to be put in game.
i feel like other peoples designs/ideas or more written out and scaled well than mine so ![]()
In that case,
- Compile a list of designs you have made that fit the game
- Practice making them
If it counts, I’ve actually made a whole Lost Magic Concept for fun.
Allow me to show you… Platinum Magic! A sort-of mutation of Metal Magic, because I see too many fire/lightning stuff. And yes, this is the Magic that the Main Character of Merchant Ledgers uses.
LOST MAGIC: Platinum Magic
Description: “Allows the user to form mirror-like platinum constructs of immense density, capable of inflicting crushing impacts with overwhelmingly devastating weight.”
Symbol: The crescent symbol of the moon (representing silver/steel) and the circular symbol of the sun (representing gold). Because platinum was rare and historically difficult to work with, alchemists believed it was a natural amalgamation of these two precious metals. Platinum is one of the densest naturally occurring metals on Earth.
Concept / Gameplay Style / Implementation: Basically metal magic, but a pale, silvery yellow color. Mirror-like. It is massively larger and stronger hitting in exchange for being COMICALLY slow. A high-risk high reward gameplay loop that requires the player to utilize game sense, positioning, and cooldown management to make full use of the magic, as its incredible slowness would leave them open to counterplay. Builds that overwhelm the user speedwise, or close the distance are its weakness. Highly advise balancing based on this philosophy.
(This might not be balanced. Open to feedback)
Mechanics:
- Always causes targets to bleed if an attack deals at least 7% of their max HP
- Always causes targets to suffer severe bleeding if an attack deals at least 25% of their max HP
Interactions:
- Clears the Frozen status effects.
- Breaks out frozen targets.
- Absorbs heat from Fire, or other heat-based magic projectiles, increasing the size of the affected Platinum projectile by 50%.
- Deals 20% more damage against Frozen targets.
- Deals 10% more damage against Sandy targets.
- Deals 5% more damage against Crystallized, Corroding, Burning, or Melting targets.

Lore / Active Users:
-
The Mythical Platinum Dragon: Stendhal I: The Genesis
-
The Platinum Curse User, Stendhal II: The Annihilator, AKA: Marcella Stendhal II - An ancient curse user whose whereabouts are unknown.
-
Stendhal III: The Vagabond , AKA: Marcel Stendhal III - The son of Marcella, and the weakest of the “Stendhals” (But still a powerful mage by all means), who lives incognito as the highly regarded economist and author: “Cutlass”. I would imagine him as a “Assassination Contract NPC/Boss”, because we need more of those. I’ll post more about him at another time.
…Defeating every Stendhal grants the player a cool “Platinum” flower crown. It’s purpose? Vanity. And as a symbol of friendship with “Cutlass”, who thinks you are a pretty cool lad to actually somehow do that (Even though he himself challenges you to do it in a side-quest).
From what I can tell, excellent concept with good balancing. But being slower than metal is… Not good with most people. Granted, speed shouldn’t be too bad if you know what you are doing. What would the approximate stats be?
Yeah, being slower in exchange for more size and damage would probably ick some people off from using it, but that’s the point: High risk high reward. I don’t necessarily want this to be some OP thing that would delete you with little chance to do something, I want this to be something you’d have plenty of chances to counter-play someone possibly using this against you, and something you can get punished for if you even think you can get away with just shooting things off without thinking much.
As for stats, I’d probably throw darts at a board and give it something like this:
Stats
- Damage: 1.45x
- Speed: 0.4x
- Size: 1.5x
This needs to be tested to really see in action so… yeah…
For damage???
WELP. GO MY PLATINUM IMBUED MUSKET AND DESTROY THAT INNOCENT ACID MAGE!!!
Anyways, I would buff the speed a slight bit, NERF the damage, tone the size down to 1.4 since if this is only meant to be a lost it shouldnt be quite this overpowered.
TRUUUE.
Can’t be deleting people with that stuff LOL.
(Ok but it being used like that on hitscan weapons would be OP as hell. Platinum Conjurer meta possibly?!??!?!?)
Oh we are talking about vanish plat savant imbue here.
Realized that I never posted about the one I have made…
Asterus Magic
Circle made by Mithridaise
Not a combination of magics, rather an advanced mutation of Plasma Magic created within the last century. Attacks cast a burning hot gaseous substance containing one of two different opposing energies. The gas sticks to whatever it touches and lingers for some time, keeping the opposing energies within until they both dissipate. A user can only cast one energy at a time, both of which have differing properties.
Upon both energies coming into contact with one another, they violently clash and let out an extremely powerful explosion that uses nearby magic energy to fuel itself.
All attacks with this magic inflict a decent DOT, dealing 35% over 4 seconds. A secondary, long-lasting (30~ seconds?) catalyst effect is also applied - this can be stacked up to 10 times, which will increases the damage of the explosion.
This magic lacks synergies, both positive and negative.
The Blue Energy: Attacks containing this energy are extremely fast and slow whatever is hit to a crawl.
0.975x Power
2.1x Speed
1.125x Size
Attacks additionally apply a debuff that slows the target’s movement speed by 20% for 10 seconds. This does not stack.
The Red Energy: Attacks containing this energy, while slow, are hard-hitting and obstruct the opponent’s vision.
1.6x Power
0.95x Speed
1.525x Size
Attacks additionally apply a stackable overlay to the target’s screen for 7 seconds. Upon hitting 4 stacks of overlay (one attack cannot apply it more than once), they will be replaced with a temporary dexterity/range reduction that lasts 20~ seconds.
Explosions: Explosions deal percentage based damage on top of a base damage of a quarter of the user’s base health, starting at 5% at one stack and adding an additional 5% for each stack, up to 55%. These explosions cannot be clashes with or blocked, however they do not apply if the triggering attack was parried. The percentage of usable energy the target possesses will also be converted to damage, with 100% equaling 500 damage.
It was balanced more as an ancient magic (specifically to give the character it belongs to a way to have a chance against Curse Users, as with any other existing ancient, he’d be totally fucked), but with the stats we’ve seen of lost magics, I may have made it a bit too powerful.
PlasmaGPT, generate me a custom magic that’s totally cool and is perfectly balanced that I can gank people with.
