I got dragged to hell (Far Reaches) by a Deer-Dog Furry
I CAN’T FEEL MY BRAIN ANYMORE.
Was talking with my friend @Aletheia and I brought up how I’ve almost never been to the Far Reaches (did it once on my throwaway file, died immediately; Early Access btw); their first thought was naturally “we should change that.”
She’s been to the Far Reaches a bunch, mostly hunting for Moly and Far Reaches animals. I have not, since to me, the meat’s useless, the danger’s too high, and I don’t have enough connections for an Omen Hunting party. Figured I wouldn’t miss out on the chance to see the Far Reaches though, so after my last class of the day, I headed straight into a Bronze Sea server and got to waiting.
Trek to the Far Reaches
First thing was an Assassin trying to hunt me before we even hit the sea border. Ale’s PvP was off and I didn’t realize it meant her ship couldn’t be attacked by him for a bit though, so I may have tried to shoot him for a bit.
Dude ended up sinking my Brig out of spite after we hit I1 or I2.
Red Text Jumpscare
I was mostly sitting in the captain’s quarters while Theia sailed; setup was they would sail, while I would sense (Ult. Energy Sense) to find islands. First five islands sensed? Nothing but trees and volcanoes, the two most useless islands in the Dark Sea.
For the most part, the islands we did come across were lame; they were either tall, spread-out, or both. We found a few Hermes Cauldrons; I brewed Luck Auras, Power Elixirs, Slowness-Poison Supernovas, and Sharkrepel Elixirs with mine, since I didn’t have many other Reagents. Theia also had me use up the one Hephaestus Pot they found, but I sold my Kraken meat after finding out how much it sells for and didn’t have wheat, so I made some C-grade meals.
Rest of it was fun; got mauled by a Thymos, lost track of the ship for about an hour total, and got told to see a Nutritionist because I’m apparently speedrunning Skeleton% without realizing. Most of the animals we found were Thymos, though we did see a few of the Far Reaches Wolves and Boars. I also caught the only Far Reaches Tiger that spawned without Ale realizing.
Oh, and it took about four hours. I got the Insanity IV eyes IRL now. Would I do it agai- yes I would, I have no value for my sanity.
Fire Magic Spell List Update
These were designed when (A) Fire Magic was supposed to expand in size as it traveled and (B) when I was going for a more casual WoM-type of gameplay feel. Fire Magic was also supposed to create cinders that would do chip damage, but that would be hell for any player wanting to graze bullets.
Might give passive expansion to Conflagration Magic, and rework the Cinders concept for Wildfire/Wildflame Magic.
Anyway here’s a Fire Ball update
