what the fuck is this shit
to summarize: “killed dashes. If player isn’t dashing towards an opponent three times, remove a quarter of their dash.”
this is complete and utter bullshit, and it comes purely off a hyperfocus on pvp. It’s not mentioned if the dash mechanic is just from bounty hunting (but I don’t fucking doubt it for a second if it’s just always active), but like seriously man, these nerfs are absurd. No, I don’t care if the several buffs to efficiency somehow compensate for nerfs. It’s perfectly fine as is. Just fucking make all stats scale linearly and lower how much of each effect each stat gives, such that 500 attack size/agility/attack speed/etc from before the update is identical to now. No, I don’t fucking care if your meta 200 attack speed 240 agility builds don’t get to have bullshit stat bonuses for minimal investment. Invest in a stat or gain nothing from it.

Maybe its just cause I don’t know a ton about balance stuff and how it works, but this does not sound very enjoyable

average balance team moment
they just want to remove the ability to opt-out of pvp
there is absolutely NO WAY this will be added, vetex’s recent rant proves so.

Vetex himself said that he’d prefer to remove agility if people didn’t rage at it, this change literally only happened cause agility exists

seems way too over complicated and probably was made becuz they got mad at their targets escaping. nobody is really asking for this

PvP is a good and important part of this game. I don’t care if you are annoyed that people keep attacking you and you lack the ability to defend yourself for whatever reason. Either learn how to defend yourself (not as HARD or time demanding as you think), or continue to get attacked by other players.
anyways, there are countless other methods that you can do to try and shake people off of you anyways. there are gale potions that will send you to the sky, and if executed correctly, could completely lose anybody that is currently chasing you.
agility is the unhealthiest stat in the game right now, so defending it just because you dont want to get attacked by “toxic pvpers” is a horrible mentality to have.
Honestly just make all agility lessen with the amount of hp a person has, and make it completely nulify at half hp easy problem solved

or get good and kill them before they escape…slow gels exist … just learn how to hunt properly
“agility is the unhealthiest stat in the game right now” lol
not once in that post did i say i was one of the people who runs agility to opt-out of pvp, im just saying by implementing that it pretty much forces people to fight others who attack everyone on sight while running builds that are downright unfair.
infact, the most agility i run in any of my builds is 111, and thats only because i like having a little extra mobility (and extending the distance of moves like Crash and Spiralling Fury).
yeah cause if people can just decide whether they fight or not renown will never be competitive, fair, or fun. We just want the competitive parts of the game to actually be competitive (most of us don’t think toxic and pointless random killing should be encouraged)
Like moochezz said the alternative to this rework is to outright remove the agility stat since it’s only really used to run away (if agility is removed other buffs to movement will most likely happen, to compensate for pve usage)
sorry for assuming you were one of those people. but if you read what i had to say, you would realize that there are other methods to escape other than agility. i’ll list a couple of other methods again here.
- high-teir gale potions can launch you into the sky, giving you enough time to air-stall and the person chasing you will lose sight of you.
- swim-speed gems that can make you the same speed as a medium-hp brig. this is one of the best methods for getting away, as pvpers typically dont use swim speed.
- get hit by an NPC that has low HP and then resetting ensures you won’t get hunted. although i think this will be changed in the future, it is worth adding here, because it is something that you will most likely be able to do in the clan-building update as well.
my point is, there are other methods that you can use to run away. if you defend agility because you think that it is a tool players can use to run away, then you need to understand that there are many other tools that can also do that, but in a much healthier way (healthier meaning if executed correctly, you can get away. but your opponent still has a chance to catch you).
slow gels are not nearly as effective as you think. but for this argument i guess you have a point, since most players could probably not understand how to play with that much less agility. however like i said in my discussion simply brewing gale potions can fly you into the sky and the person chasing you will lose track of you, giving you time to fall back to the ground, giving distance between you and your hunter
and agility IS the unhealthiest stat in the game right now, and this isn’t even a debate. it should BE removed in it’s current state. i understand why vet will most likely keep it, which is why i think reworking it is a much better solution. although i personally would not add the exhaustion mechanic, i would make it so agility does not make your dashes and what not go further, but instead makes your dashes and stuff go faster and more responsive. at the end of the day, i do think that removing it is a better option
this would probably work as a solution, to be fair.
removing it on the other hand would cause problems.
a quite large chunk of armor sets and other things grant agility, so those would need to be changed to give something else, or a new stat would have to be introduced to replace it entirely.
You should probably take a breather and read this again, it’s a pretty good rework considering vetex doesn’t want agility to exist at all since people use it to flee from all sorts of combat
Obviously he would have a solution as well as compensation for players who have items with agility on it, in order for it not to become problematic. he’d either have to come up with a new stat to replace it, or just remove agility on those armor pieces/gems for now.
but i do think it is the most reasonable change for him to add, as well as the smartest one. a lot of people forget this game is still in beta, so it is 100% fair for him to remove mechanics from the game when he deems it necessary. i’d rather it be removed now, then it become problematic sometime in the future.
also, the exhaustion mechanic is just not worth adding imo. it would make agility practically useless and will be an annoying change even for people who don’t have high-investing agility.
in other words, exhaustion is a temporary solution to the problem, and i think the better solution IF agility were to stay in the game would be that it just doesn’t increase the distance your dashes and high jump send you.
Honestly, I’m doubtful Vetex implements this fully instead of going for a straight nerf.

Kinda sad about this :(. I actually like running because I find it funny to outrun and outsmart people in creative ways. That’s why I keep 100k bounty on my head. This kinda gets rid of all of my tactics that I use to outmanuever people so i might have to get rid of my bounty. Gonna be expensive ;-;
I hope so, I can run perfectly fine with 0 agility. But if he adds the exhaustion thing I won’t be able to do that anymore. If you really want to hunt someone just use a slowness gel . It’s really not hard. But just outright removing the ability to not fight people when they attack you kinda sucks
