AO's early access features

Didn’t Rogue Lineage release with not much content but added it slowly overtime, yet it was still super popular (or was most of the content being added during the waves?)

I feel like we strayed away from the original point lol. I’m saying that awakenings and lost spells (at the very least awakenings) need to be in the game on early access release. This isn’t even my personal opinion i’m just going off of what vetex and testers have said.

Let’s take conjurer for example: Upon awakening, your weapons start to scale off of magic and weapons, so you would have a solid damage output. Without this, your damage output would be so much lower compared to pure stat builds at the same level as you. I’m talking hundreds worth of stat points.

You’re viewing awakenings as some medium feature that can be added later, and not like the entire stat build system isn’t entirely based around them.

You could argue all 5 initial lost spells and techniques don’t need to be in-game by EA but it’d a hard idea to sell since like I said it’s a major part of the game’s replayability.

But I’d rather just ask Vetex directly instead of wasting time arguing on a forum

why would awakenings matter if you cant do anything past them, as release if not early access the level cap is 120
so you would only get a small boost

i feel lost spells are for customization and versatility, not replayability. that would be stuff like a different stat build or the exploration prospect.

The great walls of text rn

I hope he releases it next summer, prefer the game to be packed with content

we’re currently going off the assumption of dec 25 - jan 15 in terms of speculated dates vetex would like to have early access release on.

so suffice to say ao would probably be out a while before summer

they matter a lot even if u can’t get past it, and this isn’t trying to point out the obvious importance of awakenings in general for the future.

the first awakening is smth anticipated for me and others by the sheer plausible things u can do now. there’s already a plethora of things u can do w/ just one path alone w/o awakenings and the first awakenings seems to practically double what u can do.

pure paths get their second gimmick which can and does add a ton of complexity and customization on it’s own. or get an entirely new unique thing like spirit weps for vitality with its own set of complexity and customization

and hybrids can become actual hybirds instead of awkwardly using their two paths alongside another. they finally can make their two paths work fully in conjunction w/ another. or straight up get an entire new system w/ it like conjurers and warlocks.

buuut making awakenings in time for early access is too much
so
at least they will be on full release

yeah

but who knows ngl, it feels a bit too early but if awakenings are at 100 and we’re at 95 we should be seeing it rather soon and we’re going to see it regardless before full release

Awakenings are coming for early access

hwhat

Awakenings dont seem that hard to do, idk i dont think they will take that long. If we still have like 30 story parts to go then no way they get done. it all comes down to when vet finishes the story tbh

i feel like you should know the answer to this question as much as your on the forums

i know its stat build potential but this is early access we’re talking about, remember?
not full release
nothing is required

So your saying that the feature vetex talks about the most aside from lost spells the feature that will change arcane odysseys combat for the better and the change that will finally give meaning to going a certain stat build isnt required???

THANK YOU

Like if you think awakenings could be done by release, that’s one thing cause maybe they wouldn’t take too long for Vetex to finish for all 11 stat builds. But to say they’re not necessary for early access at all is cap

I think awakenings will definitely be done for early access, but maple is kinda right. It really isn’t required. Most stat builds are okay as is and combat still seems to be fun and engaging. There is still much replayability outside of awakenings as well. Yes it would leave some stat builds like vitality useless, but it’s also early access.

The game is not finished, it is not being labeled as finished, and it does not need awakenings or lost spells in order to meet the criteria for early access. it already could be released in early access right now and I doubt these two features not being in there would be a big problem to people.

Again tho, I think they’ll be finished by then. I just think your argument is a bit stupid

yes
also vetex confirmed they will be

only reason I said they need to be in game by early access is cause that’s what Vetex said. I’m going off of his word.

Even if that wasn’t the case I’d still say they need to be in because warlock and conjurer scale off of two different stats after awakening. They would be at a serious disadvantage in PVP and PVE and you’d have to factor in things like renown, bounty hunting, etc and how serious an unbalanced stat system would fuck things up.
