Atlanteans stats being increased: too much powercreep?

Anyways I gotta get ready for marching now, gotta grandioso all over the place

this makes it sound like the bosses are going to be balanced around the 500+ total stats of maxed out dark sea builds, which is almost certainly going to be absurd for a player who just started about 3 seas behind of other players

didnā€™t catch that you truly meant New slots, though i think this is slightly better with the chest changes. im getting way more gems now from just picking up chests here and there. tbf, perfecting a skill is meant to take time/effort/grind so i do understand where frustration in ā€œdamn i have to minmax to stay on-levelā€ comes from. hopefully having perfected gems is considered overpreparation, not minimum assumption.

How genuinely STUPID are you for being toxic and rude to the people making a free game for you to enjoy over something which has not even been implemented yet.

Like at least wait to be an a-hole until after the update drops.

the testers arenā€™t the ones making the game, they just play it and then donā€™t report things

intentionally skew the balance because itā€™s funny*

And what about Vetex who is defending the solution?

vetex isnā€™t the one constantly suggesting buffs to everything

ok, hereā€™s definitive proof the balance team is garbage:

oh cool theres finally consequences for using atlantean stuff
cuz theres literally no reason not to have as much insanity as possible with 1 more warding rn, youll have way better stats than anyone without insanity

ok, but whatā€™s the point of making insanity ranges of the dark sea far more annoying

I get insanity is meant to be a part of the game but like this is absurd

you guys used warding to avoid insanity without even using atlantean items? if its that bad for the later ranges then weā€™ll see later, but rn you are only meant to go to like insanity 1

anyway i dont get how this picture started a 130 replies thing

like are you guys that mad that power wont be the only viable atlantean modifier or what
and no i didnt read the replies beside vetexā€™s stuff

I was wondering if the power scaling of this game was going to be pretty extremely compared to what we were expecting, anyways.
Like, weā€™re at 1/10th of our total power, and in some cases (attack size), can already hit entire towns with nukes (and even without; mortars). I kinda get why the power scale feels so extreme with the Dark Sea.

Iā€™m also taking care to note the nature of AA and how it scaled before being cancelled. Yeah, the Nimbus levels would be pretty wacky, if youā€™re still following AAā€™s power scaling to some extent.

ā€¦Of course, the question of if weā€™ll be nuking islands all the time at level 1000 does come up. Thatā€™s certainly very far off, but it would imply a lot about the late-gameā€™s areas, and how weā€™ll be fighting then.

wasnt there a thing with how youd need more of alt stats to get the same benefits the more you level up
like if 200 attack size was a 200% increase at level 100, youd need way more at level 500 to get that 200% increase again. maybe that was only on the doc idk

ā€œAnd when everyone is super, no one will be!ā€

No seriously imagine the end game where everyone just sort of have nukes or just goes really fucking fast. Iā€™m having a headache imagining it. At least itā€™ll be mildly funny.

The logarithmic scaling changes, yep. Applies strictly to secondary stats and not defense or power.

this is a pretty large change. atlantean is a cool concept to manipulate to gain the stats you want from it, but this could also just empower minmaxing even further which might suck. i only use 1 atlantean since i hate the insanity drawbacks (i know people are going to go 3+ atlantean for the stats and not care.)
thereā€™s people on both sides, those who like the buff and those who do not, but im still kind of on the fence about it.

Thatā€™s kind of a thing, but weā€™re already seeing huge benefits and the curve shows no sign of slowing down. If stats and scaling are left unchanged, weā€™ll definitely be doing broken stuff in nimbus, and weā€™re only a tiny part through the story.

Even if the scaling suddenly tapers off and all investment beyond ~400 is basically worthless, weā€™ll still be getting broken builds as we can get more stats to the soft cap with less build investment.

Most of the replies in this thread are responding to vetex saying ā€œthe new stuff that keeps getting added is all to prep for nimbus, which will be scaled for itā€.
People are worried vetex is saying youā€™ll be expected to have atlantean gear with dark sea enchants and high level gemcrafting, which would be a massive difficulty spike in the story.

the problem is that the Atlantean Modifier canā€™t be removed, and we were nevre told it was getting nerfed, so now anyone who put it on something like sunkens gotta regrind it
