Personally I headcanon him as Middle Eastern so that explains the design changes yadayada
He looks kinda Tim Burton-y to me but it suits his character anyway

Yes my traumatized boy! Love any art that makes him have the disposition of either an anxious dog or wet cat. Also, someone else who gives him eye bags, we all know that three day coma was the most sleep he’s gotten since the escape. Also he kind of reminds of Paul Atreides, but that may just be the aquiline nose and curly hair.
My poor baby has been through so much, that anxiety’s gotta have some effect on his appearance 
Also vaguely tying into this, but that’s a reason why I headcanon Morden having a big appetite
