Camping: A serious problem without a fix

I just told you to burn the leaderboard points so the metamancers you hate so much would stop jumping on your ass.

I genuinely do not know what is so hard for you to understand about that.

Just do that one singular action and this entire problem you’ve been having is just gone.
Join a discord for people hosting elysium, if you want to get into pvp, then get into pvp.
Stop torturing yourself.

I’m getting harsher because you keep making up excuses why you can’t when I, the long term member that you’re using as a point against me, know full well from experience that its all bullshit.
Stop trying to bullshit me, and even more so, stop bullshitting yourself.

Usually when people come here with the complaint you brought, I tell them that what they’re doing is stupid and contradictory to their intentions.
They aren’t happy about it, but the point gets across.
They follow the instruction, and I’ve never once seen one of them come back to make the same complaint. I can only assume it worked.

BREAK IT UP.

At the end of the day the issue you seem to face is something not shared by many people. The reason why is because most PvE players who do not wish to fight simply turn off PvP, while competitive PvP players wishing to climb the leaderboards understand the risk of having high renown. I don’t exactly see the issue with these players being “jumped”. Sure, you can argue that it is unfair but the alternative is these players being given half a minute of grace time where they can freely leave the server and run away from fights. Making the brig a safe spot is an even worse idea.

It is sometimes that nessecary evil that would help disperse those who abuse these factors to win at the game (despite there being no “win the game” condition). I already got some concerns about “half a minute” in time, so I agree there, maybe that’s a bit extreme - I’ve already got my notepad with the concerns in mind.

Making the brig safer, though, is because people will genuinely camp you on your brig, eternally, if they could, without you leaving, or otherwise make your brig despawn so you can spawn somewhere that may or may not be predictable (and easier for THEM to work with).

At the very least, making the windows intangible invalidates using the room (and soon to be rooms) as a way to stay on the ship as a stowaway, forcing fights and confrontations that can still be unwinnable as a result.

If there were better solutions than the ones I proposed, I’m open to them, though so far most you’ve shared were concerns about long times and how I seem to describe what little people have talked about. It could also be one of those cases where of millions of players, only a thousand speak of it, but it could yet be affecting more than just those thousand.

Especially if they can’t speak here, or there…

you are not saitama

just join a pvp discord server that hosts elysiums

And I don’t plan to be.

Also, I don’t really know how to Elysium, nor do I really know how Elysium works and… there’s still that upper limit that I’m worried about hitting in such a sterile environment.

And also getting my [HONK] wiped across the arena because I don’t know how to PvP.

and you never will if you refuse to try it

what are you talking about

overworld pvp isn’t gonna be much prettier

Elysium is the go to for learning pvp.
The lack of leaderboard nonsense means people are going to be vastly more chill there.

I just wish vetex would make it free already.

Frankly you’re vastly more likely to get your ass kicked in the overworld because that’s where all the gankers abusing every advantage they can get are.
You’re more likely to find and learn from genuinely skilled people in elysium.

Anybody can slap on some potions and food buffs for a leg up.

IF VETEX MADE RANKED 1 V 1S WITH CROSS SERVER MATCH MAKING IT WOULD TAKE AN INDUSTRIAL GRADE CRANE TO PULL ME AWAY FROM ARCANE ODYSSEY

Hear me out. Preset loadouts/inventory ranked.

nah i’d still prefer ranked with your own build but no consumables

The upper limit in learning PvP from Elysium. I’m still gonna get wiped, but I didn’t say anything about refusing to try it.

…maybe next time just, tell me how I should go about with getting into one, though, that just sounds extremely rude, the way you put it, alongside very short, quick statements and multi-quoting. At least, to me.

oh brother

okay sure

get an elyisum code

enter it in the place where it says “ELYSIUM CODE” in the title screen

boom ur in an elysium

i hope that was easy enough to follow

Aside from the PVP thing being the PVP thing, they do make some good points.
If I load into the game, I expect to load into the game and be allowed to ready myself for what I want to do. The forcefield and campsite mechanics don’t allow that.

In the former, other players can force it to be disabled and its duration is much too short to allow all assets to load, decreasing your ability to fight back whether you like it or not.
In the latter, it’s just stupid. If renown gain is solely reliant on doing rounds at Sameria, waiting for an unsuspecting player to spawn in, that’s just plain bad and a sign that renown needs to be changed.

The forcefield should be extended, should apply to your ship, and shouldn’t be removed on movement.
Campsites should be usable by everyone.

i feel like forcefield and campsite mechanic allows plenty to avoid being jumped immediately

but hey i haven’t gone out of elysium since full release so what do i know

that’s why i haven’t commented on any of that, i have nothing to add to the discussion

Please stay there and don’t witness the horrors, it’s legitimately horrendous. It’s to the point that I get why OP would make this post, even if their reason for complaining is flawed.

nah, i’d win

i agree from a general gameplay pov playing overworld actually makes my brain leak out of my ears

seems easy but getting ely codes can actually be kinda challenging if your not super close to the game’s community.

I mean. Clear enough. Thanks.

Don’t worry, I said the timer should start ticking upon movement - not be removed upon moving.

I’m pretty sure I did anyways, I haven’t checked my post in a bit, but the replies should have it clear too.

Especially if any form of “forced movement” can remove the forcefield, but I haven’t seen that (yet) and don’t think I want to try and subject anyone to that nonsense if it is true (nor publicly state it exists if it does).

There’s more steps to it than that.
Hell, I don’t even know any good places to get a code.
Admittedly I’ve never really looked for one, but still.
