Both the Minotaur and the Exiled are meant to not have structures near them. For example, in one of the Minotaur’s dialogues, he tells you that he likes to stand in open fields for people to spot him and try to fight him.
They do spawn as if they were a structure, and on the spots designated for structures. Bosses MEANT to have structures around them will probably spawn with them.
That’s literally what we’re trying to avoid. People coming back only for updates is obvious proof that the only reason people are staying is for the novelty of new features, not because the game is fun.
I respect that Vetex has approached WoM differently to other games, but at least buff the spawn rates for things man. Leveling is downright boring.
And no, just because NPCs spawn in a general area doesn’t mean it becomes a simulator game. In fact, this is a very good way to level (you are not considering the multiple other factors of WoM that make it an RPG game).
If you’ve ever played the greatest mmo of all time, World of Warcraft, you would know that their NPCs/mobs spawn in specify biomes/areas around the map, and at certain levels too. This creates a sense of progression and a fixed certainty for leveling.
I mean something small like a camp, somewhere that they aren’t just going to get sick from exposure constantly.
Something that won’t interrupt the battle but will actually be visible from a distance.
IMO the spawnrates are perfectly fine. EVERYTHING respawns when a new day begins, and the bosses respawn even faster.
And again, did I mention that WoM is going for a non traditional approach for an RPG?
Seriously. Stop asking for WoM to turn into a simulator.
On that front you are pretty much incorrect, because according to my eyes, the a lot of the playerbase is completely about how quests are boring and boss finding is hard… etc
Is that a reason to turn the game into a simulator? That’s not how it works.
I can only partially agree with you there.
Bosses (without a tracker) are nigh impossible to find unless you’ve got a large and dependable group on discord who split up to every single area that they can spawn in.
Regular NPCs are everywhere if you put the effort into actually looking.
Quests are just a pain but we’re probably getting quest boards in the next update with or without guild halls… hopefully.
It all comes down to psychological factors. People avoid things they can’t control and don’t know. Like I said countless times already, a completely randomised leveling model simply doens’t provide enough comfort and satisfaction.
Not necessarily, if you listen you can hear a boss when they’re nearby. Granted that’s only if someone is already fighting them.
Only if somebody is already fighting them.
That means they’re still nigh impossible to find if you want to solo them or nobody else is searching.
Buffing the spawn rates on stuff is all I’m saying. It’s not going to turn into a simulator.
In fact, there’s nothing wrong with a ‘linear’ form of leveling.
giant wall of text boi
nice stuff
Put some effort into looking.
Seriously, the spawn rates for everything are fine. How do you think people grind anyways?
There’s also a reason why simulator games are so successful. Yes, they may have a childish theme to them, but their leveling system and raw sense of progression is what appeals to the basic principles of satisfaction, and thus this is what you call ‘gamification’. The reason why kids are more attracted to those games is because they just can’t understand the in dept factors such as lore and complicated mechanics.
The boss spawnrate is fine.
Have you seen anybody who isn’t using a tracker actually be able to find the bosses at a rate you can even start to call remotely consistently to grind for their drops?
Sure, doublerun isn’t right about the spawnrate thing for literally anything that isn’t quest spawns, but the bosses need to actually be visible.
The gameplay in simulators is literally only meant to appeal to children.
WoM isn’t a simulator.
You need to consider why.
Like I said, it’s only theme of the game that does that. A leveling system where you spend time to level is something nearly all games have.
And what if WoM goes off the norm? Is that bad?
Not like there’s much to judge this system for yet anyways.
BECAUSE THE GAME IS STILL IN AN EARLY STAGE
Nobody wants the game to be a simulator or to play like one, designated grind zones are a no-go.
Finding enemies shouldn’t be the easiest thing in the world, there’s enough of them as it stands and they’re fairly easy to find alot of times.
The boss visibility and quest spawns are the only issues.
