Da new hunger & energy mechanic (well, a revamp)

That is true, it could also probably drain like in TF2, but maybe through moves like how you lose energy.

i was so ready to doom post till i saw this

peak cinema keep cooking

this is very true. its a good indirect punishment for spamming attacks. im just now finding out people apparently hate this (or if only vetex hates it)

Nah, we’re missing Shark Fin Soup too.

I’m of the view that this isn’t a great idea, HOWEVER, I’d rather Vetex actually TRY something than keep hunger as-is. It’ll be an interesting mechanic, to be sure, and I do think that it’s worth trying.

Of course, you’re right, the difference is so apparent now!

Can’t believe a combat rework happened. Can’t believe it.

(Personally I’d prefer Energy to be more annoying. I will elaborate/read when I have more time, but some people have already said what I want to say.)

love this, hope vetex slowey works on pvp movement so it becomes less like aerial pvp and more grounded and parry based

I assure you that will not be happening thankfully.

its more accurate to how energy regeneration works in lore, plus its just a better system that removes hunger (thank god)
w change

It would be extremely funny though

With this rework, are energy costs for attacks still a small percentage of your max energy? Or will they have a fixed cost?

can you just make sure to test fort castrum with the change

What if saturation lowered your stamina bar? You’re filled to the brim with food, of course you’re gonna be slower unless magic energy does the funny

For every 5 points of additional temp health from saturation, you get 1 less point of stamina to work with. And since stamina scales with level, you can shove more food down your lego food hole as you gain levels.

Also if your entire stamina gets removed, well…….

You start using your health as stamina. It all makes sense. Ever tried running after eating a whole lunch? You aren’t gonna be lasting that long before you run out of stamina because of all that extra weight from food. More food is less stamina, and while you can use it for more health, you’re going to exhaust the health faster. This will prevent people from eating too much, and it incentivizes you to Think before shoving down that 8000 hunger smoothie.

As a neat bonus this has the added benefit of adding in a layer of immersion. I mean, cmon. They added dirt accumulation, why not this?

the annoying thing is that i’m only gonna be able to eat 100 points of food at a time, which is gonna suck with my habit of spamming magic high jumps whenever i can

I think large meals will bypass this as they bypass max hunger right now.

Its kinda the same as charging except charging actually made you unable to move while food can give you buffs and you can actually walk during it. Plus it would take way less time.

Given that Estrid gives you 15 Red Apples after her part in the first chapter is done, and you’re forced to make Simmered Fruit using four additional apples, I don’t think it’d be too much of an issue right away.

There’s also the Learning to Cook sidequest that gives you a red apple, white mushroom, brown mushroom, and pepper.

you just have to make a meal, not simmered fruit
