Game Feel Changes/Additions

I’d love to see AO get a ton of adjustments for better game feel. This is crucial to games as you’ll be doing these actions constantly and it would feel much more fun to have everything feel great. Some parts of AO are currently fine, but there’s a good amount that can be adjusted. Just because it says it hits through text, doesn’t mean you should ignore the actual sounds of it.

Running Effects

Some sort of effect or bigger trail whenever you run. This makes it feel much more satisfying to run compared to absolutely nothing. There are some ground effects such as dust or grass once in a while but don’t really feel that impactful. Probably the best solution is to increase the amount of effects whenever you run so it feels like you have more weight to running.

Running Animation Adjustment (AA/CaM)

Running should be changed to be more like Arcane Adventures or Create a Magic. The animation starts faster and end immediately. Perhaps make the run ANIMATION itself faster and exaggerate the movement.

Stamina High Jump Effects

Instead of just a shockwave happening, some particles from the ground should come out for a slightly bigger impact. Obviously the particles should depend on how much the high jump is charged and the ground material.

Landing Effects

Similar to high jump effects, when you land from a high enough height particles should come from the ground. This just feels way nicer than absolutely nothing happening.

High Jump Sound Change (CaM)

More something personal but I’d really enjoy it if high jumps got changed to the sounds found in Create a Magic. They just sound more pleasant to me and more of a whoosh. Perhaps still include some sounds of the actual high jump SFX due to it just being a whoosh.

Stamina Replenish Visuals

When you fully replenish your stamina, perhaps some blue indicator around you that appears when it’s fully replenished. Just something nice to tell you have max stamina in the heat of a battle.

Hit SFX, VFX, and Animations

When you hit someone, there should be at least a different sound that happens. It sells the impact and makes the player feel much better when it happens. Text usually appears but I feel as if sound is a much better way to communicate the power of an attack. Even changing the pitch instead of a new individual sound or just a general hit sound would be much better than absolutely nothing.

New visuals such as cuts, bruises, and other related hit effects would also help sell the impact of an attack. Most attacks sort of just happen with no bigger visual indicating when an attack is hit.

A full hit/flinch animation should occur to better sell the feeling of an attack. This would be purely visual but would help tremendously.

Casting Style Visual and Animation Changes

You can have magic effects or other effects show-up when you charge or use attacks. Some examples would be your magic effects appear when charging, trails for stuff like punches and kicks, and a bunch more possible ones.

A lot of casting styles can get a lot of changes to make them feel much better to use. A lot can feel bland and dull in a bunch of areas and having specific changes occur to them would make each much nicer.

As for this, I think high jump effects are already fine with the exception of a few. Some magics not having particles from the ground makes sense because they aren’t very destructive. Magics that have coils in their shockwave explosions should also have coils in their high jump shockwaves though.

Vesteria has a sound for whenever you land an attack or get damaged. Maybe AO could have one too alongside the regular impact sounds of attacks.

For everything else, I agree or am neutral, though I don’t think high jumps necessarily need a new sound.

The high jump sound is from one piece, so I really doubt Vetex will remove it, considering how inspired his games are from one piece

prob good to clarify i meant stamina high jumps. magic jumps are fine and are way more satisfying to use. you really dont get a sense of power whenever you jump and can feel eh (also the start-up just feels like you’re clinging to the ground rather then powering up)

literally any sort of hit sound would do wonders
