Game Feel, Issues and complains?

Not that I played the update but it seems clear that the update was disappointing to most and a lot more people around this time just ignored the update all together.

Personally feel like the constant dramas going on with Vetex, false update expectations (like building update) and the huge array of bugs and issues that pop in cause too many issues and makes the game feel terrible

I do wish the game to be popular and well loved but things don’t seem bright at all

Dedicating this post to be a spot for issues players find and solutions people can come up with, rant and such.

(Note: a lot of this stuff may feel “doomposty” or “hateful” but i think these are things that must be discussed, heard and be given thought. sure it can just be suppressed or ignored but that won’t really help the game.)

Building update issues, failing community promises

Probably one of the most efforted updates right below dark sea but yet failing to fulfill community promises in anyway

if people recall the update was constantly mentioned to be tailored towards “Re-playability” yet the update was entirely treated like “side content” that you can safely ignore with no actual use

fort castrum is the only form of re-playability which still gives you terrible loot while being a terrible experience either way

from my talk with Tech he mentioned that the updates goal from development was to finish islands and make it easier for later content

essentially the update was a stepping stones update for full release, and tech claimed it was a successful update

Not that I know what exactly the dev team is working on but from a Community view point this sounds ill-logical

If the update’s goal was for a stepping stones then why did it need building in the first place?

so much time was wasted on building features which aren’t gonna be used for full release (for what we know, full release will have a bunch of QOL and STORY)

this added with the fact that the entire community was disappointed with a mediocre building system just makes the whole update feel displeasing

(I will mention that its still impressive how bugless and lag-less the update was, i can tell that much effort what put into it and its really impressive, but that doesn’t make it a logical approach, at least to me)

The dev team needs to focus on a particular task and make sure they aren’t creating false expectations to the community, I personally would have been fine if i was told

“this update is a stepping stones update, we will focus on re-playability at a later stage”

Instead, fort castrum was forced in a few days with no unique rewards as a filler and the building update being balanced towards later ships and levels made it a bad experience for most making it very disappointing

certain features being left out to make the game “un-fun” with terrible excuses

Features like the darkness effect in Titan caves and the ancient cave are left out as “roblox bugs” with no way to fix them

or so it’s claimed

My issue with this is the fact that these features can be easily disabled by the developer until an alternative can be brought up

These are lame excuses and i have no idea why things can’t be temporarily disabled, I understand that the game is Alpha

but I see no reasons why features aren’t disabled until they can be fixed.

something is extremely unbalanced? you can’t fix it in time?

disable it temporarily and reward the players for lost items or with refreshments, I have no idea why this isn’t done

IIRC during the weapon affinities reverse bug a lot of people were reported to be “bug abusing” with tons of attempts to ban players were used after which the mod team had to tell people that the weapon abuse was not banable anymore

Such issues can be easily avoided by just disabling any weapons causing issues temporarily while awarding players a free stat reset as a sorry, I do not see why quick changes like these aren’t done or are ignored.

alienating players, not feeling like a part of a proper community

It’s very clear that community opinions and ideas are almost entirely ignored.

I’ve already tried my own ways to possibly contribute to the game with suggestions and so have alot of people but it’s clear that suggestions are ignored and player opinions aren’t noted

People don’t feel like they are heard at all and are ignored, this causes people to build distaste for the game

The few community requests that do reach the dev team are usually denied with them almost feeling questionable

A while back a post came out that showed vetex mentioning that the reason one of the Halloween seasonals couldn’t be dyed (sinister gaze) was due to “lore reasons” and because of “other ideas he had”

This reasoning feels almost nonsense, your telling me that events are lore accurate now?

headless is a lore accurate item now? doesn’t make sense

Another example?

Many people noticed that solid magic imbuement looks horrifying to look at?

Everyone knows the earth imbue joke at this point

A few testers AND players suggested to make solid imbuement purely change the texture of weapons

and on paper? amazing ideas, fixes so much effort and will make the weapon look cool right?

well no, It’s actually done on purpose… Why? cuz Vetex doesn’t want solid imbues to look like weapons made of magic? what?

another nonsense approach, stop making things look bad for no good reason.

I have no idea how the Dev team can just ignore a massively requested change that would take no effort or sacrifice to do

(I’m sure people can come up with way better examples but these are ones that came to my mind first)

Ignoring every community idea and essentially reducing the fun factor for players for bad reasons isn’t good practice

thou difficult, Devs should take the time to actually communicate with the community, else it feels like the games on a journey where the players were never a part of it

this is especially bad when Vetex has already put his reputation a bit low in the community with a lot of players disliking him, It would be wise to put together a better approach and build a better relation with the community

Ignoring and limiting people just makes things look bad

Good way to start?

Start to actually review the Suggestions section, use a “accepted/deny” system so the community at least feels like their efforts on ideas are actually being heard

Ghosting us isn’t doing the dev team or us any favors at all

Publicly take on community ideas and credit community members for ideas that were dropped into the game, this would make players feel more noticed

it’s important that player opinion take more consideration, the game is still designed to appeal for players, not only the developer.

if you do something that literally everyone hates then don’t do it.

I can handle bad loot but the npcs disappearing and making me lose made me quit at the time

I made a nuking build because I thought it would be fun to blow up all the enemies, but they added this stupid Line of Sight check that prevents you from damaging Fort Castrum enemies if there’s any kind of obstruction between you and them, so over half my hits never register because they’re caught on a bit of destroyed terrain.

yeah thats annoying af too, and it’s also pretty common for the npcs to dig themselves into a wall and you can’t figure out where they are

and yet they can still hit you when they’re behind walls, usually having their magic phase through any terrain too.

I have explored like 2 of the new islands

there’s not enough grammar here for me to read past the first post

most useful opticalcord reply

the morbillionth time an update has been called disappointing i mean come on give the guy a break bro

edit: except the fucking snowmen FUCK THEM FUCK THOSE FUCKERS THAT IS ABSURD TO EXPECT ME TO SURVIVE GETTING WHITED OUT BY A GANG OF 15 SNOWMEN

I’ve been trying to get vetex’s attention towards this problem that he’s been ignoring for nearly half a year for the last three weeks.
No response whatsoever.

have you tried it in the discord where he actually checks (for legal reasons I do not endorse this)

Twice!
STILL no response!

Like not even dismissal, he just ignored it.

have you tried breaking into his house and leaving a note on his bedroom door

from my conversation with a patreon who usually asks questions it seems vetex has been ignoring a lot of people

might be irl work but could just be ignoring

not true, more like “average opticalcord reply”
