Have you played rogueblox? and if so what are your impressions

Blocks are not the most optimized thing ever, I got into a fistfight with a basic NPC and got folded like a napkin
speaking of which, I stood on a house to cheese the NPC, who didn’t know that the space bar existed and thus despawned, giving me the same benefit I would have if I had beaten him

All in all, hilariously unoptimized/11

Essentially it’s a deepwoken clone but kids edition, And imo it’s just another game that’s disguised to be good while just wasting your time as much as possible while grinding premium funds. Nothing new and nothing special.

I think the tutorial was kinda nice thou, it summarized everything I would need to know at that time.

Credit where credit is due, the tutorial is a nice addition that very few permadeath games on this site add

  1. the game is still new and has added systems in place to stop the killing of new players

  2. theres now a system in place called unseen aid thing where if you die you don’t lose a life, and it happens a LOT unless your progressed. took me like 10-15 times to actually wipe my freshie by myself

yes there is still progression loss yes there is still permadeath if you dont like rogue lineage you wont like this game, and thats ok.

people aren’t masochists for liking hardcore games. games that made you lose your progress have existed for years and definitely has appeal to a certain community. if it isn’t your game DONT play it! :sob:

what you think im not doing

i think you meant “what do you think im doing”

but yeah people aren’t masochists for liking hardcore games

No but people are masochists if they like getting humiliated and being treated like a wet towel (there’s a point where the joy of overcoming the odds does not justifying it)

dogwater game that took the worst aspects of rogue lineage and deepwoken, mashed them together, and then gave us this slop

  • why cant you teleport to your quests when the map is this ginormous
  • why do you lose your lives near-permanently(wouldnt be a “rogue-like” if the only way to regain lives had to be incredibly tedious and demotivating)
  • why can max progged players camp out in the freshspawns
  • why don’t the guards DO SOMETHING??? ANYTHING??

i liked how they removed the whole “unfun pointless immersive ‘exploration’ of my map that has approximately 3 interactable NPCs with the rest of it being a barren waste land!” part of deepwoken and rogue and just gave us an NPC tracker, but that’s like…
…idk…
the… bare minimum…?

they just tryna be rogue lineage so bad :weary_cat:  fr

first off hahaha funny number reply second off what can you do after wiping aside from respawning i have to know (theres gotta be something else right)

Nothing.

“its a deepwoken clone” no its not have u even played the game, its no where close to deep :sob:

1: what game has this
2: they added something called unseen aid where you have a chance to not lose a live when you die
3: they do get punished for camping out freshies and you can leave the game after being killed
4: the ai is bad

It’s a parry system game with a wipe mechanic. How is it not a deepwoken clone?

if ur talking about when an attack flashes red thats a move that can be perfect blocked NOT parried. the idea of “parrying” has rotted your brain.

it would be parry based IF the combat was like this M1 F M1 F M1 F M1 F M1 F M1 F but the combat is more like M1 M1 M1 3 M1 2 M1 M1 M1 4 M1 M1 R

1: No game, because most game’s with large maps either are designed for large maps or are horrible
2: RNG? I’m guessing
3: ?
4: ?

people who complain about the game being bad because ultras camp kill them dont know one of the unspoken rules ofr permadeath games

if you die to a player, LEAVE and go to a new server because they will kill you again and the AI is just simply awful

So your telling me that it isn’t a deepwoken clone BUT it is a kids edition game?

yeah because the progression is significantly more easier than rogue, but its not actually so easy to where a 9 year old with a computer could play it.

AND honorable mention, this game was a thingbefore deepwoken was an idea

I love the game but it does have some flaws in the devs choices. Like why is infinite carrying allowed, just grip me and move on but no I’m forced to either watching youtube videos, get my 2 friends that play this game to come help, or combat log where I lose all of my items, silver, and I gotta pay to fix my insanity. Some boss designs suck too like Queen Bee and Charybdis, Queen Bee is just not fun to fight and I genuinely believe one move is unparryable (might have to go base sword to try to parry it) and Charybdis is the easiest fight in the world so they added a one shot move just for flavor. There are also artifacts in the game that save between wipes, you have to do a very specific set of steps in order to wipe to achieve one, after like 4-5 days of straight hunting a group of players discovered one of the artifacts and decided to not gatekeep it (it’s horrible.) The developers response to this? Make it harder to get and nerf it. What’s the point in a player hunting for an artifact if you’ll just change the method and gut it (when it already sucks too), horrible choice by the developers. Other stuff is just balancing or small stuff.

Other than my gripes this game has been so much fun after they’ve fixed the major issues, so far it seems as though the devs do care about the game and aren’t like Rune Slayer where they can’t solve the one issue with the game (the million bugs every update). Servers were horrible on release but they fixed it after 2 updates, and it has just been a joy.

I love the exploration, I love the build variety, I love most of the classes, I love the biomes, I love the systems, and I could go on.
-Exploration is fun as there are easter eggs hidden around, optional bosses hidden, you’re rewarded for it not only in the useful npcs that are found but there are fairies around the map that give a reward when you collect them all (we haven’t found them all yet), and it isn’t as though you’re just bumbling around lost (unless you don’t use 2 braincells). The notebook lists the location of every base class, and almost (they might’ve fixed it Idk I never went gun) every class tells you the location of one of the supers that you can go. My first class was Mage, the trainer then said that the super (Cleric) was located somewhere in the desert so I explored until I found it.
-There is so much build variety that it’s both good and bad, overpowered builds are beginning to appear but slight adjustments have taken place to counteract it. Other than that you can do a ton of stuff, whether it be poison builds (has a variant in the form of mana pox), fire builds (has two variants in the form of blue fire and daemonflame), bleed builds, speed boost builds, or more generic stuff like armor or armor penetration. Recently an immortality build against npcs was found but they tuned it down a bit to just be really tanky.
-Class variety is cool, and I’ve enjoyed the ones I’ve went. The only issue is obviously balance, there was one class called Ancient Champion and you literally couldn’t do anything to it before the nerfs even if you were trying to gank one with an entire clan in a server (it’s tuned down now thankfully but still nutty).
-I like all the biomes so far besides beach (it’s just bland and small), Jungle is massive and fighting my first demogorgen in there with a friend was hilarious with how scared we were. Desert also has some fun stuff to explore, I once told my friend “Trust there’s something up here,” and there was a cave leading to an ultra class and a big boss above that cliff. This is really just ties into exploration icl. Tundra is alright, still fun to explore but because I can summon a campfire I never really struggled when I first went in.
-Has vanity, has Unseen Aid so you don’t lose lives against supers or ultras as a freshie or to random stuff like the void, has pylons to teleport to major areas and like every chest gives pylon fragments to tp to them from anywhere. There are also momentos which can be used for rerolling your race for free, rerolling your Gift, and making the punishment of wiping less severe. There are also Gifts that are progged from wiping which are just useful in general like for example: Recovery gives increased health regen out of combat, your hunger regens out of combat, and you can make a campfire to heat you up and heal faster. Preservation can set its own spawn anywhere, make an ender chest, and Idk the tier 2 effect it was changed with the addition of Unseen Aid. Sight just gives you esp and you see others people health, kinda just a pvp Gift.

There’s another positive to the game but I forgot it since I was talking to friends so Idk.

I was thinking about making a post talking about its release like how I did it for Rune Slayer, but since it’s permadeath I knew that the community wouldn’t really care for it. I personally love the game currently, but the systems are definitely not for everyone. And I know this is formatted poorly but I don’t really care

Probably the only reason I can tolerate this genre is that I genuinely don’t care if I lose stuff, especially in this game where once you understand stuff you can get a max class in like 30 minutes or less and be kitted out (ignoring the very rarest stuff) in a hour
