Oh thatās actually a neat point, if a hard mechanic is hard then by game design, it has done what it is intended to be. Asking for it to be easier just defeats the purpose on why it was made that way, it isnāt bad game design after all I guess.

Finding essence isnāt hard in that it poses some grand challenge or anything, its hard in that its unbearably tedious simply for the sake of being tedious.
It also has absolutely no reason whatsoever to be this tedious given that every other build type can do what this does for free with no challenge whatsoever.
Intentionally adding bad game design and succeeding does not make it stop being bad game design.
If finding essence was something locked behind a big challenge as a reward that I could consistently reach and face with certainty that my success will give me the reward Iām looking for, Iād have much much less complaints.

I feel like hectate should be VERY rare but not like this to find, I think it should take a few days of grinding and a tough battle but not just mindnumbingly exploring islands

A guaranteed reusable essence at the epicenter would be good, but pushing it out of normal island generation completely for this would be horrible.
Not only would you have to coordinate an epicenter expedition team every single time you want to change magic, but itād also be pushed out of the fourth range completely.
Upon thinking and reflecting about my choices I have determined that the epicenter possibly might be a bit hard to access when you have a magic you are trying to reset and clearly do not / cannot use
Weāll probably get a way to reliably locate it in the future though. I donāt see Vet adding actual content to the epicenter and leaving it locked behind that painful a process
like donāt get me wrong, the epicenter is easy to find⦠with 8 kitted out players coordinated and communicating with a full plan to sweep the entire 5th range in a big scanning motion.
(this is an actual thing you can do and it would make getting the badge/title comedically easy)
Ngl atp, it feels like lost magic would be really powerful which is why Vetex purposefully made changing magic hard to prevent meta swapping or changing magic once the list is out. Vetex did say that magic would top anything else idk.
Though tbf it isnāt hard to find anyways once you figured out how to look for them, so I wont ask for anything ig. Main reason why hecate taxis are profitable once you figured it out.
Ok:
1: Other builds are getting lost/ancient magic equivalents. (everyoneās always forgetting about ancient fighting styles and legendary weapons)
2: Other builds can (and regularly) metaswap very easily.
3: Magic tops everything else, no questions asked⦠in lore, not in gameplay.
i think it could be for balancing issue as well
mutation are going to be based on your base magic and vet prolly doesnt want people to switch to the magic of the week so easily
First two kinda doesnt compare with lost magics ngl, im most likely sure that Vetex would design them to make magic better in some way in effects and size, but weāll see I guess if theyāre equal to lost magic once theyāre out.
