honestly as other people have said i think having tangible progress towards finding/getting a hecate essence would make the grind so much more bearable
i dont mind if theres grind but when you dont know if said grind will be either 3 hours or 20 that makes it so much worse
hypothetically what if hecate essences only spawned on islands that are designed to make reaching it really difficult to do (basically a dungeon)
those islands would be more common ofc (or we could have something like charts that make them spawn in) and itd shift the difficulty from âpraying you finally get it after hours of nothing with no end in sightâ to âstill really difficult but has tangible progress that lets you see youâre actually getting somewhereâ
if youve played botw it could be something like eventide island where all your gear is taken away while youre there which would give it more strategy (forcing you to scavenge things on the island) and also make balancing it easier
most likely thereâd be multiple variations with some randomness in certain aspects so you cant make a perfect route to reach the essence with 0 risk. Armor and weapons and such would be able to found on their own, because relying on chests for those wouldnt be very fun
thats far from a perfect solution (i can already imagine issues with it) but tldr i think that way of making it challenging would be much better
edit: im aware this is still drastically more challenging compared to changing weapons/fighting styles, but a new method as easy as that is never happening sooo
this would actually be so fire because then it means you have to master the playstyle of the magic youâre trying to reset, rather than the current system where youâre expected to avoid combat completely

Fire got a good update so ive been meaning to switch to it ever since vetex ruined the explosion visuals. Iâve been playing explosion since day 1 because haha nuke, but over time aoeâs been getting tons of nerfs and attack size scaling was made to be worse for 1.3 size magics.
My magic both visually and effectively isnt what is used to be, this is not what I signed up for. Let me change my magic

explosion magic just isnât as fun as it used to be in WoM and I didnât know how overwhelmingly meh it would be when I picked it again in AO.
