like when essence released it was a big thing and everyone kinda hated it.

I donât think vetex understands how miserable searching every inch of mount orthys looking for something and knowing full well thereâs an 11/12 chance that its just not there and that youâll have to find ANOTHER mount orthys to try again is.
I can actually see why Hecate Essence exists, because while most things require some effort to obtain, Magic just exists, so while switching other things is easy, getting them in the first place is harder.
So to choose a different base magic, you have to put in effort just like you would to unlock a different fighting style or weapon.
Problem is: Itâs highly disproportionate, why is it so difficult?
yes, hecate essence is great as a concept and should have been in the game on release (just like acrimonies), however it was implemented in what is probably one of the most abysmal ways vetex could implement them.
This is specifically a problem for magic builds tho

Is the size on Pure magics less effective than imbued FStyles or something? I just finished building my Explosion Warlock yesterday and itâs massive
I am running 300 size but I still had enough stats leftover for 280 dmg per hit and 1.8k hp
the texture quality is so ass
I just donât like how it looks anymore.
It also just isnât very effective in combat when I use it. Never was, but now that it doesnât even look great anymore and now that we donât have big towns like WoM that can be reduced to proper rubble, its just lost its appeal.
I actually just finally found an essence after god knows how much time looking for one and poison magic is doing much much better.

essence still hasnât been addressed in any meaningful way by vetex.

Yeah, those all exist to complement your magic. Magic is supposed to be a permanent part of your character and not something like weapons you can swap out in an instant

magic users are just screwed for no reason when literally everything else is so insanely easy by comparison
changing magic changes your build more fundamentally than weapons/spirit weapons

Yet magic has to go through hell while not expecting to return in order to change that 1 aspect, while it makes sense that magic should be the hardest to change, it should not be that obscenely difficult
