Hecate Essence Rant and a Call for Answers Regarding it

thats me hello
thank you for falling for the bait

Not to mention that things keep always changing, what If I had X magic and didn’t want to use it anymore because it isn’t what I signed up for? Should I spend 10 hours like Theoretical to change it? Create a new file?

The moment I saw the three “!” I knew it, but it was too late, the message was already sent… You win this time :sob:

Metamancing isn’t the concern, it’s about not even giving a magic a good try before it has a chance to click, or looking at other avenues that could use improvement. The casual more often than not isn’t dissatisfied with the magic, they are dissatisfied with the performance of the character overall. They see someone with a different magic using bigger and stronger blasts, and think it is their magic that is bad rather than their gear in most cases.

It was never about permanence, it was about a choice that isn’t easily undone.

I think this problem will naturally be alleviated as more things become available in the Dark Sea, so that you don’t go in for just one specific thing.

I have absolutely no faith in your ability to make logical points and you have done absolutely nothing to sway that view.

It is accurate.

then stop saying its a trial of skill

lore.

yes, also nobody said with ease.

haven’t we learned yet that immersion at the expense of gameplay is a bad thing?

You’re correct, too bad it can take some people multiple weeks to find it.

where’s this gameplay consideration and reasonable justification you were talking about, am I missing something or were you lying to my face?

I keep saying that you’re dying on an indefensible hill because you are.
I could use a different metaphor and it’d mean exactly the same thing.

You have no actual points to make despite your claims that you do, all of your justifications fall flat, and its blatantly obvious to everyone.

There is no justification for this wild imbalance between the classes.
There is no justification for intentionally making basic QoL miserable, and yes, it is miserable.

No amount of lore or immersion is going to change that.

For example of your lack of good points:

If metamancing isn’t the concern, what is?
Metamancing was the closest thing to a justification and even that fell flat.
Let people try what they want to, if they don’t like their magic then don’t ask them to build into it, they aren’t enjoying it.

What exactly do you think permanence is?
(let me help you: “Not easily undone”)

If a person is dissatisfied with their magic for one of the many reasons they could be, it is unlikely they give a single shit about getting dark sealeds and just want to find the thing that’ll let them enjoy the game again.

By the way repairing tools has an ever increasing cost and eventually it gets too expensive and you’re just not allowed to repair the tool

Didn’t know that, regardless, mending enchant pretty much removes durability from the game lol.

thats quite rude

Never did. I know lying comes easily to people whose goal isn’t an honest discussion, but please, try and make an effort to have some merit to what you say. We’ve had enough Fridges, wouldn’t you say?

Actually, it’s clear to me that you have no interest in an honest, civil discussion. Other people have heard me out and considered what I had to say, and even if they disagreed, they did so in a civil, courteous manner. Whereas you put on a song and dance of this being some terrible imbalance, bandying about terms like “QoL” hoping that people agree blindly - after all, who wouldn’t want QoL? - putting words in people’s mouths, and desperately attacking whatever poorly chosen words are used instead of the ideas. Instead of providing counter-arguments, you refuse to address the points of others until pressed to do so. And now, you try to paint others as the fool and cow them into silence by suggesting their opinions are inherently worthless and inevitably torn down for daring to go against your infallible position.

I’ve had enough of this thread, your intent going forward has become obvious, I’ve said my piece and had good conversations with genuine people in this community about these matters. You keep on lamenting having any sort of friction in this game that makes you ever so miserable, until you finally get the answer you called for (which has to be exactly what you want or it is not a real answer), or until people stop feeding you attention.

He has been quite rude, hasn’t he? I tried to play nice, but I guess that was a wasted effort.

This is also why mending is the best enchant

By far

You said it is hard, hard means skill is required.

Also what are you talking about trying to be nice to me, you came into this discussion basically saying I was a detestable piece of shit because I called a guy AI for going on irrelevant tangents that had nothing to do whatsoever with what they were replying to.

At what point did you do anything to be respected for.
You’ve spouted dogshit opinion after dogshit opinion, said you’ve said things that you never said, said you didn’t say things that you did say, are super inconsistent, and regularly go on tangents just like this to avoid addressing any actual points.

I gave up trying to respect you when you started lying.

Holy textwall

???

Let’s not get rude over a Roblox game, opinions are subjective

except mine :sunglasses:

They are and I think they’re dogshit.
None of their points or justifications have made any sense whatsoever.

Damn, reading through this thread this theoretical guy is fucking insufferable. Maybe it just went on too long :man_shrugging:

damn you only just noticed?
