I don’t want to take any side in this arguement. But I think that you’d better get someone with patreon to ask this question in the patreon chat. Its not just safer this way, but also faster.
Btw, sorry if someone already told that, I scrolled topic in the rush.
My default is just deleting my file because right now it’s easier to just make an alt, level it up, transfer my stuff and then re-make the file. I don’t mind it personally, let’s me experience an update from the perspective of a new player whenever I do it. Gets annoying if the file has a brig or something though.
Level cap isn’t too high so it’s not going to take forever to get back to where I was either. I’d only seek Hecate shards whenever, you know, assuming the level cap was at 300 right now and I was around that level. Def could be better, since imo the main issue is GETTING to the Far Reaches which is the most tedious thing here. Because if you die, you gotta sail all that distance again before you can even look for the essence itself.
Yes, but not to me, because unless you have rare stuff (which a cross-save file item bank could solve this issue, and make alts unnecessary), then you can get back to where you were without much effort.
I am in fact not stupid thank you
Vetex adding hectare essence could be him saying ‘look, it’s just here so you know it exists, but I don’t recommend actually searching for it because there’s an unofficial level requirement of 400 since it’s the far reaches and for your current level you’re not supposed to be there yet. Sure it’s possible to change your magic, but I don’t recommend it until the level cap actually raises, this addition is only for lore stuff and so people that are really desperate can try to change them’
The alt banks aren’t just for this whole situation, it’d be QoL for transferring items from one file to another. Like if you wanna make a warrior/conjurer but have a Sunken Sword on your mage file.
It’s not stupid, it’s poorly executed and badly communicated
Right now, most of the community sees it as ‘oh yeah it’s the only way to change your magic and it’s stupidly difficult because uhh vetex is mean idk’
But in actuality, it’s meant to be ‘oh you wanna change magic ok sure you can go to far reaches to change but I don’t recommend it until you’re level 400 or so’
That’s my view on it but Vetex is damned if he does damned he if he doesn’t.
Damned if he does because of this whole situation because people want endgame content to be made easier for early game.
Damned if he doesn’t because people will whine about not having the option at all.
