Maybe i’ve been too hard on Deepwoken. It’s hypocritical for me to shit-talk a game that i’ve never played, and then get mad at people for doing the same thing to AO.
Once I realized that, I bought the game. I mean, the game was 50% off. I knew I wasn’t willing to pay full price, so it was now or never. There’s also a fair amount of people on the forum who enjoy DW. So I pushed my preconceptions aside and now i’m giving it a 5-day chance with an open mind.
Within those 5 days I will make an honest attempt at progression. I’m Recording my experiences, the BS that happened to me, the people i’ve met, the amount of times i’ve wiped, and what I think of the game now that I’m actually playing it and not just looking at it.
Look forward to it, because It’s only been two days and i’ve already got a looooooooong story to tell. 3 days to go.
It’s also easier to survive? Alot of my deaths were due to stupidity like in the clip above rather than actual ganking. Oh but there was ganking involved, and i’ll cover that in the huge post.
I’ve gone into rogue and i’m not planning on going back because i’ve mentioned that i am not a fan of rking, and the game really revolves around combat
Also yeah I see where you’re coming from. I don’t like rking either, but there is a PVE progression path, and I intend to take it. I’ll just have to defend myself when necessary and get used to it, ppl will rk in AO too, but hopefully alot less
DW (and the stuff i’ve already ran into today and yesterday) might give me thicker skin lol
Technically, if you’re good enough, you can just keep escaping Schyzophia and have infinite lives until you achieve 20 drowns and get sent to Layer 2.

HAHA that took me literal ages. I ended up somewhere completely different when I set sail for the first time. But yes, I found it. I got clips recorded and i’ll go more in-depth about my shenanigans in Lower Erisia in the huge post (Ganks, Jukes, Wipes, Logs, Friendlies, etc)
Oh. It helps to join a server region that’s around the state where you live, since it allows you to get a better connection and lower ping and all that
If you die too many times without leveling up (getting a power boost) then yea I see your point
Maybe if somebody looks much stronger than you in WoM/AO and they rk you maybe you shouldn’t try to revenge kill them

Apparently there’s this system called “Luck”. It can be gained by killing players and NPCS to get better talents and mantras when you level up, which is why the killing is so rampant, but luck is only gained if you kill those above lvl 10, which makes killing lvl 1s a no good waste of the killers time.
I’ve learned to just log off before they can even hit me, but sometimes i’m too slow or I end right back up in the same server
