I don't get why people are hating on the PVP toggle

Some things are better left forgotten… but who cares???
Noble Phantasm | Dark Sea Saga - Clans - Arcane Odyssey

my understanding is that this guy was a close friend of vetex and thus could get away with whatever the fuck he wanted.
so he made a guild comprised of the most toxic shitbags in the community and they all literally worshipped him as a god.

he was also game banned ??? time ago, but for some reason he’s still allowed in the forums.

my life was better before reading this wtf :sob:

close enough, welcome back diddy

I’m sorry, I don’t enjoy the fact people will make believe an era where people in my family tree “disappeared” because they were jewish. And yeah, I am a victim. It’s not victim mentality if I got forced to do things no child should do.

1/10 bait, what the fuck is wrong with you to not see the most obvious unsaid things?

Oh, so the literal worst type of player for AO, awesome.

My ex boyfriend who did things I cannot say here had an UNCANNILY similar mentality in games, and how he treated me, and I find that SO FUNNY, like what are the odds :skull:

To put it shortly, he was the physical incarnation of pointless ragebait.

ignore jimmy im convinced he is rb1

And that’s the problem. Pre-toggle AO may have promised a PVE focused experience, but failed to deliver end game content that would be objectively better (As in, reasonable, rewarding, and fun) than PVP. Normal Roblox players can’t enjoy passive PVE like fishing, treasure charting, diving, etc- because it’s boring. Fighting NPCs is similar, with the rewards being renown- worthless for non faction players, and treasure charts, which brings us back to my previous point.

PVP soon became the endgame content of AO, whether the playerbase liked it or not. It was technically a storybased PVE game, but due to that PVE being niche, people pretty much just flocked to PVP. This is why some are disagreeing with the PVP toggle- because it could interfere with the “soft” endgame of AO.

The problem with that opinion is that the PVP toggle isn’t even half as intrusive as people might be thinking it is. Clans will unofficially become PVP content, and climbing the leaderboard will be objectively easier since you’d consistently be put into servers with players of similar or higher renown than yourself (I say “objectively” easier since you ARE being put in a bigger pool of high renowns compared to before, but if you’ve been ganking PVEers this entire time you may have some trouble).
Let’s remember that the root of the issue here isn’t the PVP toggle, it’s an endgame content draught.

Here in lies the issue.
Full release is coming up, all of those things you said are problems now.

We can only hope that they will not be problems on full release.

lets just all wait for more details and then if someone’s still not happy we’ll start arguing again

i’m autistic, please don’t tell me you’re an ableist?

I’m autistic.

I’m ignoring you now. You bait and act this way, it’s immature and shows a lack of proper growth. Prioritize being a better person and not being this way towards people who never did shit to you.

Stop resbonding to bait bro Im half convinced they are fridge alts

While this argument isn’t ever going to come to a conclusion due to people just not accepting other people’s points, I have found some of it quite interesting.

Most of the arguments for not adding the pvp toggle have been ones that are asking for sympathy towards the pvp players. Sympathy that they in turn to not have for others.

I find it interesting that the majority of points being made are relying on the fact that the people will feel bad for those who want to see them suffer. Using morality in this context is not what I would have expected.

Also, despite spending their time depriving others of happiness for their own enjoyment, when the same thing happens to them it’s suddenly seen as unjust.

Unusual mindsets are being witnessed in this argument

this wasnt even bad, everyone just fell for the most obvious ragebait in existence

It was pretty bad and everybody jumped right ontop of the ragebait.

everybody involved in the creation of that post should be game banned ngl.
sure, they didn’t technically break any rules, but… like I said earlier: most toxic shitbags in the community concentrated in one place. nobody would miss even one of them.

what raiding dark sea expeditions? its part of the game i’ve done it myself

yes, jumping somebody and taking several hours of grinding away with them being able to do absolutely nothing about it is completely unacceptable and makes you a massive scumbag.
do not try to justify this, all you’ll do is make everyone, including myself, hate you.

it doesn’t get better when you remember that you, the person jumping them, suffer no consequence whatsoever if you somehow fail.
