just remove the self-heal and make the casting time like a second or something. there’s literally no reason for it to take that long.
I mean it depends on how powerful it is, Iron magic can get 54% more hp with resistance mode. Letting stuff like that be activated in basically no time doesn’t seem too balanced.
Unless you give it a reasonable tradeoff.

What would the tradeoff be?
a certain amount of magic drain over time. just costly enough to make it risky to use, but worth it if you play your cards right
it’s risk/reward. that’s what it should be. of course. but you really don’t need to shoehorn in a nonsensical self-heal mechanic and a ten year windup to achieve that. there are better ways to make it play the part it’s supposed to without sacrificing as much of the game’s fun factor as humanly possible.

It already has a pretty decent magic energy drain though
Then you don’t need the self heal.
So you want the mode spell to be a buff that can be activated instantly and has a magic drain?
At that point the magic drain is non-existent since you can just activate it toss out the spell or spells you want and then deactivate it when you aren’t on the offensive anymore.
Then just give it more magic drain??? If people are only going to use it in short bursts anyway, it’s exceedingly easy to just make it function around that. I don’t know how this is supposed to justify the way it works now.
If anything, that just makes modes sound even worse. Why would you want to wait so long just to benefit from a buffing spell if you’re only going to use it for a second or two anyway?
What good would that do? You still can instantly deactivate it and recharge all your Energy back in like a second.
I have seen multiple Testers say Magic route is the best rn but less fun than Weapons, why would you want to buff the Mode Spell when Magic is already the best?
The entire point of the Mode Spell is to be used at the right times so you can get a buff that could help you win, it’s not supposed to be used every battle or be made that you need to use it to win.
This isn’t a DBZ game where you need to use your transformation to have a fighting chance.
