Storm magic is literally just cloud magic but turned offensive, and guess what? Cloud magic was retconned in favour of it. This means that Storm magic IS Cloud magic.

are you a sheet of black paper? the only time you’ve probably every been damaged by light is a sunburn from staying out too long. and unless you’ve been in like an actual tornado or hurricane (which i would not consider normal conditions anyway), it is unlikely that wind has caused you any physical harm.
well, here’s some then
- first of all, you could make the clouds denser so their impact has more, well, impact
- clouds are actually quite cold, getting down to -45 degrees at the higher altitudes, which can be boosted in the same way ice or snow magic is
- clouds are very large structures, with a typical cloud being around one kilometre cubed. this focus on size could definitely be amped up by magic
- you could use the clouds to obscure yourself and the opponent’s vision
the fact we have ash magic already as a magic too proves cloud magic can be just as viable, it’s basically just ash but on the opposite end of the temperature spectrum

My skin is tanned and i hate being warm, I’m obligated to tell you how much i hate the light.
Light is radiation. Amped up Radiation beams are called lasers. There are basically no normal conditions where you’re dealing with wizards who send volleys of objects towards people, anything can be a lethal weapon at that point; except for light, particles with no physical properties or unique traits, like clouds.
Cloud does all of that but worse than steam.
Clouds do not stick to people like smoldering dust.
You can obscure yourself with every other magic and do other cool things whilst doing so.

exactly, these things like light and wind are typically completely mundane, but having a wizard who can use them as magic makes them strong. the same is true with clouds

i don’t see why it would need to, it is a very large area of below zero temperatures. this aspect isn’t even important for ash magic, it doesn’t petrify unless you deal 33% of the target’s health or use another magic with it. cloud magic would just have the same thing but with the frozen status, like ice (plus the water droplets from the clouds condensing onto you would stick to you anyway, so your statement isn’t even correct)
good luck obscuring the battlefield with metal magic and still getting around, you’d need to build a door in every wall you make
Stop saying Light is Mundane , its a laser, it does not need to be in this imaginary “mundane” category, because you’re trying to have a silly debate on why cloud isn’t a fraud.
And get wind out of that category too, events that happen due to wind are everywhere, and just because your skin constantly regenerates doesn’t disregard the fact that wind erodes things.
Aura / Charging. Solid magics just make more particles.
I do not care enough about cloud to remember information, such as what it consists of; which would, in fact, allow it to stick to people.
I still think it’d suck regardless.
Anyways, yeah cloud would actually be able to injure people, i know most of this; but it as a magic sounds like it’d be incredibly boring, and quite redundant when we have storm. Besides most of a clouds properties are from the outside world (go figure clouds are cold, they’re several kilometers in the air!).
I’ve heard that sky diving through clouds suck because of the particles, naturally it’d be able to hurt people, but why even bother with that when you can pick clouds with thunder?

you aren’t finding a laser, or a proper powerful one at least, anywhere outside a lab, and certainly not in the era ao takes place in. you know their light is just based off sunlight

light magic can undoubtably be powerful, but if it takes multiple days of sitting outside for 10 hours straight to do any meaningful damage then the real thing is just not on the same level

hardly any of the xrays from the sun reach the surface of the earth, and less than 1% of solar radiation is emitted as x rays and gamma rays anyway. i don’t know if people in ao even know what x rays or gamma rays are, but you know ao’s light magic is just visible light, maybe with some ultraviolet and infrared
this is actually caused by neutrons, gamma rays are what’s emitted by the fission in an atomic bomb
