I feel like now is a good time to mention that dragons were said not to use Ancients— and that they can use inferno: The grand fire magics are lost tier frauds. (without them, we really don’t know of that many Ancient magics anymore…)

To be fair, inferno is so basic as a concept, it’s such a normal, realistic thing. It has no business being an ancient.
so ancient magics must be THAT strong then considering none of the dragonlords use them
well we only have 1 dragonlord so far, i could see future ones using ancients
That + some other dragon lords could be higher leveled (since Vetex’s mythical dragon is a higher level than the rest of the mythicals)
To be fairer, the only two ancient magics we know of for sure are basically avada kedavra the magic and tsar bomba the magic, so it’s not like inferno is competing with the pinnacle of creativity and uniqueness
Ancient magics are magics that were created using multiple Hecate shards and, according to Tech, were capable of contending with the gods, so I feel like a magic embodying one of Prometheus’ flames would fit right in there. Even if the concept of the magic seems basic, I want to again point out that death magic and apocalypse bringer are basically just the black ops zombies instakill and nuke respectively
That said I honestly feel like the grand fire concept as a whole was done away with and Vetex just kept the magics/curses as normal ones rather than special promethean ones

isnt aethereal flames just really bright fire? i dont remember anything about it expanding unpredictably (wasnt that darkflame?)

To be fair making a unique spell set for fucking 6 different magics who’s gimmick is “fire but x” would probably be pretty hard
Best thing to do imo though would be make Promethean fire an ancient and each of its spells correspond to a fire variant

Okay guys bit of a needy question here. Are mutations, as a whole, a fusion of two or more magics together, WHILE also including a single-magic evolution? Somebody on the AO wiki is saying that mutations aren’t fusions… even though it’s kind of the base. (Is Aether a light evolution or is it something like light + explosion)

Although i’m not too sure what Prometheus was exactly thinking. If the man beat you on his own the first time, what makes you think that the last pieces of your power could overpower him the second? And that’s without mentioning Promy giving him 4 entire curses before that…!
