Tired of seeing Lost Magic Concepts that relate to lightning and fire and stuff like that? Maybe looking for something that would be incredibly easy to implement?
Allow me to show you… Platinum Magic! A sort-of mutation of Metal Magic, because I see too many fire/lightning stuff. And yes, this is the Magic that the Main Character of Merchant Ledgers uses.
LOST MAGIC: Platinum
Description: “Allows the user to form mirror-like platinum constructs of immense density, capable of inflicting crushing impacts with overwhelmingly devastating weight.”
Concept / Gameplay Style / Implementation: Basically metal magic, but a pale, silvery yellow color. Mirror-like. It is massively larger and stronger hitting in exchange for being COMICALLY slow. A high-risk high reward gameplay loop that requires the player to utilize game sense, positioning, and cooldown management to make full use of the magic, as its incredible slowness would leave them open to counterplay. Builds that overwhelm the user speedwise, or close the distance are its incredibly obvious weaknesses. Highly advise balancing based on this philosophy. POWERFUL, BUT EASY TO COUNTER!
Symbol: The crescent symbol of the moon (representing silver/steel) and the circular symbol of the sun (representing gold). Because platinum was rare and historically difficult to work with, alchemists believed it was a natural amalgamation of these two precious metals. Platinum is one of the densest naturally occurring metals on Earth.

Lore / Active Users:
-
The Mythical Platinum Dragon: Stendhal I: The Genesis, an ancient dragon corrupted by the dark sea’s rain, whom “Cutlass” asks the player to put down. He does so by asking them to “show her mercy”.
-
The Platinum Curse User, Stendhal II: The Annihilator, AKA: Marcella Stendhal II - An EXTREMELY cynical ancient curse user whose whereabouts are unknown, whom “Cutlass” asks to “show her the light”.
-
Stendhal III: The Vagabond , AKA: Marcel Stendhal III - The son of Marcella, and the weakest of the “Stendhals” (But still a powerful warlock by all means), who lives incognito as the highly regarded economist and author: “Mr. Cutlass”. Though “Cutlass” himself asks the player to “show him a good time” by defeating him. I would imagine him as a “Assassination Contract NPC/Boss”, because we need more of those. I’ll post more about him at another time.
…Defeating every Stendhal grants the player a cool “Platinum” flower crown. The purpose of that flower crown? Vanity. And as a symbol of friendship with “Cutlass”, who thinks you are a pretty cool lad to actually somehow do that (Even though he himself asks you to defeat every Stendhal). Just don’t ask him if he’s Stendhal III…
Creator’s Notes: For shits and giggles, I must ask that if this were ever to become a real thing, it should totally be the slowest magic in the game in exchange for having crazy damage and size (But size more so). I WANT people to make fun of how stupidly slow this is. You thought this was just gonna be metal magic? Nah. Take actual molasses.
Open to questions about anything, if anyone wants to ask!
