Following BEDMAS

  • Start with the brackets, 1+2 = 3 (6 / 2 x 3)
  • Division and Multiplication go from left to right, 6 / 2 = 3 (3 x 3)
  • Then 3 x 3 = 9

How does this even form into an argument, its just simple math.
Just follow order of operations and its easy.

Clearly the answer is 2380.

9.

This is a great way to check peoples age. If they answer wrong they’re underage gg ez

Those are parenthesis, not brackets, hence PEMDAS

If we include brackets it would be the much less cool
PBBEMDAS

(The first B is brackets and the second is braces)

In Canada we learn it as BEDMAS, I think that “bracket” can function as an umbrella term rather than only referring to “[ ]” (I assume these in quotes are what you think of when you hear the term brackets)

This has been debated so many times and discussed by math geeks that I still wonder why this is at all disputed.

ya I’m used to parenthesis/brackets/braces doing this

{[()]}

Obviously
The answer is yo mom

it is very obviously 100% guaranteed to be

ur mom
i am so fu9nny guys XDDDDDDDDDDDD
please kill me

I’m still shocked by people choosing 1 at all unless they’re just trolling

-PEMDAS

6 / 2(1+2)
6 / 2(3)
3(3)
9

-BEDMAS

6 / 2(1+2)
6 / 2(3)
3(3)
9

I’m gonna be honest I did it as PEMDAS and got 1, yeah I’m kind of ashamed of that

PEMDAS gets 9

Yeah even Meta put 1.

Idk that’s how I remember learning it
…You do know this whole debate is about who learned what right?

i got 1 cuz
1 + 2 = 3
2 x 3 = 6
6 / 6 = 1
(pls dont say im stupid)

PEMDAS as well as BEDMAS get 9

Implied multiplication by juxtaposition gets 1

If people defended themselves by saying they believe that the multiplication is first due to implied juxtaposition it would make sense.

In PEMDAS and BEDMAS, multiplication and division have equal priority and go left to right

i dont even know wth PEMDAS and BEDMAS is, im dutch so idk maybe math works different depending on the country you live in idk?
