Open world Challenges

So I have a few suggestion about the open sea:

  • Merchant Ships

    • These are semi rare to spawn and have special NPC’s
    • Some of them are the same as the ones in current towns, but some could have special NPCs [Example: Treasure Hunter: Sells only uncommon items and above]
    • Makes it so you don’t gotta return to port constantly when our in open sea
  • Siren Lairs

    • VERY rare to spawn
    • Usually will have 2-3 Siren NPC’s to fight, which will make your ship uncontrollable and drive towards the rock formations
      • Hitting them with a attack will slow you to regain control
    • There will be 1-2 special chests that have special drops (Only able to be opened after killing the sirens)
    • Despawns 5 mins after all chests have been opened

[Example]
5% - some really rare item
10% - a sword or smth
20% - a accessory or smth
40% - a random piece of armor
[these items will only be available from these lairs]

100% - 2-3k crowns
100% - 2-7 crafting materials of a sort?

  • Pirate Fleets

    • These spawn in clusters of 4-7 groups of enemy ships near the edge of the map, and are somewhat rare
    • If 6 or7 spawn, 1 of them will be an stationary NPC frigate
    • Most of the ships would be Caravels or Sailboats, each having 3-7 pirates each
    • They could drop their armor at about a 2-4% chance (as in a fleet there would usually be about 40-50 pirates)
      • In the stationary frigates the pirates are slightly buffed, about 12-17 pirates on the frigate
    • There could be a miniboss pirate captain that uses only weapons
      • Killing him will give you a chance of getting one of these weapons (Like handheld cannons?) at about a 10-20% chance
  • [??? Idk name] Areas

    • These will have increased rarity and rates for Rare fish and Items, these are rare to come across though. Some items can only be fished in these areas
    • The water in these areas have a golden tint to them
    • There will be only 1 in every server, and it changes location every 30 minutes
      • meaning that people will fight over these regions
  • Possessed Wizards

    • They randomly spawn around Clusters of dark rock formations with runes engraved
      • Up to 4 could spawn at each area, and randomly hovers around the area
    • They have a very offensive play style and move very erratically.
      • Killing them could have a 2% chance of dropping a lost spell scroll. being near the area could give you insanity level 1.
    • These are uncommon, but not too rare
  • Boss Drops

    • Make all bosses have a very rare cosmetic drop, as drops from the first boss would become obsolete as soon as another boss releases , this serves only as flex material lol
  • Sunken temples

    • Ruins underwater that contain treasure
      • these can range in sizes and drops, with the bigger temples being rarer and worth much more in treasures
      • up to 5 tiers
    • Mobility spells and weapons will be turned off while inside a temple (Vetex had a plan to disable spells like high jump while in puzzle areas as I remember)
    • These Temples would randomly generate with its own puzzles and traps
      • Traps do percentage damage so a level 1000 can’t just stride through them instantly
    • Tier 1-3 will have a small treasure room containing items
    • Tier 4 would have a vault protected by a sunken guard (idk what name) that must be destroyed with your magic
    • Tier 5 would have a large room guarded by 4 guards and 1 sage, which has a rare cosmetic drop
      -The chests and such (which contains majority of the items) can only be opened when all enemies have been defeated
  • Drop Chances

    • Tier 1:
      40% - Crafting material or smth (Ancient shards?)
      100% - 2-3 random items
      100% - Ancient Coins

    • Tier 2:
      1% - Enchantment Scroll
      30% - some rare amulet? since we getting Minor tier Amulets on AO
      70% - 2-3 of the said crafting material
      100% - 3-4 random items
      100% - Ancient coins

    • Tier 3:
      1.5% - Sunken Sword/Chestplate/Leggings/Helmet
      3% - Enchantment Scroll (random)
      10% - a consumable buff? since food gonna be added
      40% - Random Minor Amulet
      100% - 3-4 random items
      100% - 3-4 of said crafting material

    • Tier 4:
      0.5% - A Random Magic weapon
      1.5% - A Rare weapon, maybe a trident?
      3% - Some special armor type? (Ancient Armor or smth)
      5% - Sunken Gear
      10% - A Shield of sorts, overgrown with moss?
      30% - Consumable buff
      80% - Minor tier Amulet
      100% - 3-6 Random items
      100% - 6-7 of said crafting material

    • Tier 5
      1% - Some really edgy and completely broken balance-wise weapon that requires half your life grinding for
      2% - Magic Weapon
      3% - Rare Weapon - trident or smth
      14% - Ancient armor or smth
      20% - Sunken Gear
      20% - Shield or smth
      30% - 2-3 of the consumable buff
      100% chance of a minor tier amulet and a 30% chance for a second one
      100% - 4-8 random items
      100% - 15 of said crafting material
      (From Sunken Sage) 5% - Omnipotent eye, makes your eyes glow (sans cosplay when), cosmetic only

  • QoL Changes
    • Fix Client Blast attack graphics, pls
    • Shiftlock or similar, M1 aiming do be like

greek mythology

the Arcane universe is literally Greek mythology but Prometheus gave magic to humans instead of fire

You know what’d be extra mega cool about ancient ruins?

If instead of containing galleons, they contained special rare fish that were worth that many large warships when sold.
Why? That’s simple, galleons probably weren’t minted at the time that temple was built.

Considering what happened with fish and smoke arrows, I don’t know how vet plans to implement those.

Idk if sirens fit the game but the rest seems to be fine. Maybe the possessed wizards would have something else than runes on them, like they were reanimated with death revival magic or something, but anyway

tbf, the AA cinematic universe is mostly greek based

So far, there’s no currently living mythological creature, but I assume that might change because…

nice suggestion

thousands of crowns (should be changed to galleons) might be a bit too much
also galleons are worth more in AO so i’d suggest like 200-500 galleons for each of these dens
